My TeamSpeak 3 suggestions.
Hi.
After being stuck with "That other VC software" for a few years. All I can say to "that other VC software" now is: GTFO forever
.
Anyways, I have a TeamSpeak 3 Beta server running and now that I understand how it works, I have a few suggestions for some issues that might be a major problem later.
Suggestions:
1) Add a max width and height in pixels for avatars that is editible.
2) Add a way to delete avatars from the TS client.
3) Add a way to manage clients by getting a list of all of them from the database so you don't have to manually look up ID's
4) Add a way to disable any of the text chat formatting features for users. I don't want people to be able to use colours or smilies or formatting features if I don't want them to.
5) Add an option to disallow "Nick changing" on the server.
6) Add a "disallowed" names list so people can't join a server using a swear word or something like that. Allow a * so it can filter like for example "*luck*" so any word with that in it isn't allowed.
7) Add a permission so a user can't create a channel at all.
8) Add an ability to "auto-complete" nicknames if you hit TAB like in IRC
9) Allow the end user to either enable or disable the checking of client updates. Nobody should be forced to do anything unless they set it up to do so.
10) Adjustable "Anti-flooding" settings. For example, how many times you could change a nickname in a certain amount of seconds, how often you can switch channels so people don't set a binding that makes them move through a million channels in a second, how many lines of chat can be said before temporary disabling it for an adjustable amount.
11) There should be an adjustable text chat character limit so people won't spam a huge word or something.
12) There should be a way to "clear users, but yourself" from either a channel or the whole server if required.
13) Add a "Global" announcement message for administrators to be able to make. I have my server set up so normal users can talk to the whole server, but I would like a global message that could make a special sound and maybe even invoke the TTS engine to say what was written. It should also look different too if applicable.
I also noticed a bug that is abusive. It is about usernames: It doesn't strip spaces before or after a nickname so you could impersonate a username and unless you look closely, you wouldn't notice the difference.
That is all for now.Last edited by Sonict; 22-12-2009 at 21:35. Reason: Added 4 more suggestions

Nice List.
I had #3 & #5 on my list.
Also:
- Show IP information when you click on Main Server
- Allow the ability to right click and add user to a Server Group similiar to Channel Group
- When you click on a user on the main server window that has disconnected, allow you to pull up their ID information and add them to the various groups.

I added 4 more suggestions to my first post
I hope that some of these are considered. It would be very helpful since like in forum software, you should be able to configure everything as much as possible. Basically, if you can use it, you should be able to configure how or when to use it.10) Adjustable "Anti-flooding" settings.
