How to upload your logo into ts?
I wanted to place a banner within my teamspeak for my users to see, we were able to do this on ts2 but what about ts3?

Hi,
it is nearly the same as it was in TS2, the gfx you would like to embed needs to be available via http, ergo it needs to be located on a webserver.
Upload it to a free imagehoster such as imageshack.us an note the URL to the Image. Right click on the virtualserver and choose "Edit virtual Server", then "more", "Host Banner". Put the URL to the Image at "Banner gfx url".

Strange that it has a file server and can store avatars locally, but has to go to an external host for a banner?

Yep, and stranger still considering that it downloads the banner to a local file so it really just needs to be sent once (It's hell changing banner since everyone that logged on during the old banner still has the old banner stored localy and won't see the new one. )

Question is how do we set up a virtual server with the host banner already set? Kind of like a "There is a banner already but you can change it deal"

If they have it downloaded/cached...then all you would have to do it change the name of the image in the url so the system no longer sees the banner as the same.

I looked through all the folders and the server does not store the banner local, only the client stores it local. So atm, there seems to be no way to store the banner local on the ts3 server which is dumb since it can store avatars

YEah. You can store avatars, store files for users to download, but u can't store a small banner. Shouldn't be to hard to fix, would it?

Please tell me this isn't still a 'feature' carried over from TS2?? the whole caching of banners on the client without some form of expiry time was just plain broken in TS2 and if thats still how they are doing it in TS3 then I'll be mighty disappointed...At least do a HEAD on the url each time the client logs in so that you can check to see if it has changed and re download it if the date is newer than the last time you downloaded it.
Can someone confirm whether this is still the case?

If the new banner has a new url or file name, it changes instantly in the client. the problem is, you have to store the banner off server even though it has a local file management system.

The new way does have an advantage: TS3 now supports PHP image scripts, which means you can do all kinds of dynamic banners that normally wouldn't be supported if it were just a simple tinyweb type server built in TS3. I've spiced up my clan website banner a bit with randomly changing quotes and texts, and I reckon I'll do the same for teamspeak once I get PNG transparency to work correctly in that PHP script of mine.
Anyway, I currently have a static 24 bit transparent PNG on my TS3 server, but I am wondering about the maximum dimensions. I assume it's 40px high by unlimited px wide?

I made a quick banner 300x150px in size and it worked perfectly. So Y 150px is supported.
