I know this topic is quite old, but it does seem to be the definitive topic for this issues, as 99% of google results point me back here.

Thankfully the link to the mirror in the last topic is working and helpful.

After lots of frustration, i think i've finally concluded that these instructions have the prerequisite that you have Service Pack 4 installed for windows 2000 if you want this to work.
There were a lot of functions that it was complaining about after installing the wrapper that only exist in DLLs added to win2k in SP4.

For example, there is the kernerl32 function CreateProcessInternalWSecure, added to win2k in SP4 as can be seen here...

So, with SP4 and the wrapper, things should go swimmingly.... i think. >_>

I'll hopefully be putting this to the test tomorrow (or sometime soon) and will post an update accordingly.

The fix was done for the client but it works with the server distribution too. I tested it myself with both versions.

Below is a copy of my original thread on the Win2kgaming forum ( a small community dedicated to making games and applications run under Win2k)

If you have any other Win2K related problem be sure to visit the Win2kGaming forum, we have fix for practically anything ranging from Crysis to GTA 4.
The win2kgaming forums have moved to:
    http://oldcigaret.info/

So the new url for the Teamspeak 3 Client and Server on win2K instructions can be found here:

    Hi,
I got also this error "Der Einspringpunkt wcsncpy_s konnte in der ... msvcrt.dll nicht gefunden werden."
At this time I was starting the server by doubleclicking the "ts3server_win32.exe" from the package "teamspeak3-server_win32-3.0.3.zip". I followed the how-to on this site: https://www.snork.ca/?p=834

Then I got a way how it's working on my Windows 2000 machine.
At first I have to mention that I had Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2 runnning.
    This was updated as follows:
    1. Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 "W2KSP4_DE.EXE"
    2. Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 Update Roll-Up 1 "W2KSP4RollUp1-KB891861-v2-x86-DE.EXE"
    3. "Windows2000-KB835732-x86-DEU.EXE"
    4. Windows Installer 3.0 "WindowsInstaller-KB884016-v2-x86.exe"
    5. Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 "dotnetfx.exe"
    6. Windows Installer 3.1 "WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe"
    7. Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 "NetFx20SP1_x86.exe"

Then I tried a new install of the package "teamspeak3-server_win32-3.0.3.zip" plus the above mentioned dll's (https://www.snork.ca/?p=834) --> Error "Der Einspringpunkt wcsncpy_s konnte in der ... msvcrt.dll nicht gefunden werden."

    The how-to was dated August 16th, 2010.
So I tried the version which was actual by this post -> that's v.3.0.0
This is downloadable from the original site here.
Then starting it via command prompt (Win+R -> cmd)
    Code:
    cd C:\Programme\Teamspeak3
    ts3server_win32.exe start
    Then it worked.
Now I wanted to know which version was modified that I got an error.
So I tried all possible versions from 3.0.1, 3.0.2 to 3.0.3.
The "update" which I did was very simple.
I stopped the server with right-clicking the toolbaricon and selected "Exit".
Then the archive was copied in the "Programme\Teamspeak3" folder and yes - all old files were overriden.
I started the server every time with the cammond prompt and the above mentioned orders.

At the end I have to say now it's working with the version 3.0.3 (which is the latest).

    Regards,
    Pollux
