Ultra high Quality Music Codec?
Is it possible for ya guys to add an ultra high quality music codec? Something that could play atleast 256kbps quality music for those that have the bandwidth to handle it? 19.59KiB/s is about 156kbps. To do 256kbps, it would take a codec that uses 32KiB/s. A codec that uses 40KiB/s would be able to do 320kbps quality audio.

anything above 20kb seems like overkill to me.
way too much data being uploaded / downloaded.

It should be considered. The main people who would like to see it not done, is ISPs and Ventrilo hosts. Would cost them more money. But as an end user, we should not limit the abilities of the software due to other companies not wanting to support it should we?

Would be cool for people who host their own server on a dedi box like us instead of a host.
It's always nice to have the choice and not use it then to not have it and need it.

This is a great idea. Our box is hooked up to a 2gig fiber line so it can handle the extra bandwidth.

It will not be an issue for anybody, as people controlling the server will have the ability to limit the choice of codecs, surely? Thus there is no reason not to expand the collection and quality of codecs, though I have no immediate requirement for additional codecs.
