annual license renewing?!

I see in the license keyfile, that the NPO license for a 512 slot server only lasts for 1 year (mine is ok till 22.12.2010).

How can I renew the license? will this be done automatically via some kind of updateserver, or do I have to request a new license every year?

And I was not complaining that I had to wait 5 hours. I could have wait 24 hours and more to get an answer. But there are just so much new threads in here that this question would be on page 4 or more, so I pushed this.

OK, found the FAQ entry. So the license renewal should work.

How is this handled technically? Does the renewal overwrite the licensekey.dat file, or is the renewed licensed stored in the DB?

In other words, where I can I check whether the license has been renewed - preferable before the expiration of the old one...

It was said in past idk if it was around beta <10 or so.
Its nice way to let us use it, and keep track about how many is up around the globe, without annoying us.
Like most of the free licenced antiviruses do......

Just to confirm, the auto-update of the license worked.

It happened about 2 hours before the old license expired.

The licensekey.dat file now holds a new key with an updated end date.

My license has expired so how do I renew? Says in here it is supposed to auto renew but nothing is happening...
