Forget everything you know about TS2 when you installing TS3 - it's absolutely different program.Last edited by steelturtle79; 28-12-2009 at 18:02. Reason: inappropriate comments

P.S.
If you're serveradmin, you have a little shield with "S" letter next to your nick.Last edited by steelturtle79; 28-12-2009 at 18:03. Reason: rude comments

There are two types of admin's on the new TS3 server... I think this is where you're getting confused.
The server admin, which you seem to be able to get fine, and then there is the Server Query Admin. You need to grant yourself Server Query Admin status.
Do you remember that username "serveradmin" and password that showed up in the console when you first launched the server? That's the Server Query Admin login info. If you didn't write it down or save it somehow, you'll need to re-install the server because there is no way to recover that password as far as I know.
To grant yourself higher permissions you need to login as Server Query Admin. Search the forums for this.

You might need to start over. I had a bit of difficulty setting up TS3. I think I have a properly configured and running server now though. I used a guide on the forums here to help me set it up. I would suggest trying this locally on your own system and see if you can get it working before trying on your real server.

Hope this helps.

beta
you must also realize that ts3 is still in beta. from my understanding of things they are going to start working on a query web interface somewhat like what ts2 had which should make things a little easier for people just trying to run a home server. One thing i would like to point out is to make sure your beta is up to the current release. about every day right now they are releasing a new beta version that fixes bugs in the software. try a fresh install with the newest beta release. hope this helps you
if not than maybe you need to wait tell the software comes out of beta and it becomes easier to setup.
