Can't find any! Where is it located?

did you check the permissions of the keyfile?
licensekey.dat --> Everybody has read and execute rights (i hope it doesn't need write rights or?)

make 100% sure that your licensekey.dat file is called that and not licensekey.dat.txt with .txt hidden. I had the same problem and when I redownloaded the file it worked.

also make sure that port 2008 TCP can talk out.

delete the "dat" file and upload it again from your mail directly into the root directory of your ts3 server. Make sure that the file with the ending "dat" file extension.
    Restart your Server.

Hm. Tried to run server by hands from the directory you've installed it in?

Or as suggested, use something else to extract your key from mail. (Honestly, I think devs should add different message to the case "file found, but can't be understood")

Yeah I installed TS3 in C:\ts3srv\ and there is the "licensekey.dat" and the "ts3server_win32.exe"

I'm starting the Server with the console
    Code:
    cd C:\ts3srv
    ts3server_win32.exe
Do I have to add parameters to say the server that there is a licensekey?

Don't know if the mailprogram has done something while extracting the file! I'm using Apple Mail 4.0 to extract the licensekey.dat and it also don't worked on Mac ts3 server!

Maybe its broken! How can i test the file?

If you have not created server ini file, then no. It should just work.
For mail, you could try save mail as mail (.eml file) and use WinRAR or WinZip to extract attachments.
You would probably need to rename mail file to .uue to trick archivers.

i had same problem, and found it was my firewall blocking my license from communicatiing with Triton CI and Associates. I didnt have to make any files. Just make sure that the license was in the root of the ts3 folder as indicated in Triton CI and Associates instructions. all worked out for me. hope this helps you.

I have the same problem (throws same error @ launch in logs and 32 clients max not 512)... do i need to edit the below line in anyway to get it to work?

I have tried upgrading to the current beta version, deleting and re-adding the key ... putting it in folders... putting the name in the license path basically everything I could think of - with no luck

    licensepath=

    Just remove it.
FFS! Guys, if you're doing random things that not described as necessary steps in manual, do them properly at least.
And never ever give empty parameters to a program, unless you sure know they are necessary to be empty.

removing the "licensepath=" line completely from the config didn't do anything. I am thinking apple mail did something to the license key attachment.

I will keep messing with it

fyi - the config i am using was auto generated by TS3. the licensepath= defaults to empty - or did with the beta version that made the config.

I have a feeling the issue is just apple mail though

    ________
it isn't apple mail - the key is formatted the same way if i get it from webmail or apple mail - 17 lines all the same length but the last one. so i guess that is how it is suppose to be.

so - i guess it doesn't work because i am a moron. great.

in your config (ts3config.ini) you need to give the directory to the license file like this, depending on your file structure.

    Code:
    licensepath=C:\Program Files\GameServers\ts3\licensekey.dat
Also, there maybe a problem with the file as you downloaded it. Try opening the file with notepad and then copy and paste the contents of the file into a new notepad document and then save it as licensekey.dat - making sure you set 'Save as type' to All Files. This worked for me.

Another thing, sometimes the licensekey.dat wont work with a pre-existing ts3 server instance, and the only way to solve this, is to delete ts3server.sqlitedb file and start a fresh. This would solve your problem if all else fails.
