Microphone Not Detected
Ive been running ts3 server since open beta started. I have had a couple clients connect to find that TS3 would not detect their microphone at all.
However they found that if they start TS2 and connect to a TS2 server
And THEN open TS3 and connect to the server, their mic works fine in TS3.
They CAN close TS2 after they connected and their mic remains working for the duration of their connection on TS3.

I have the same problem but even if I'm loged in to a TS 2 server I can't seem to have TS 3 detect my microphone.
I'm on Windows XP using beta 9.
I use a Creative Labs SoundBlaster Xgamer Live 5.1 on a PCI slot.

Same problem in our group... 2 guys with "Microphone Disabled". Both have XP with older SB soundcards.

I'm guessing you just need to select windows default in teamspeaks options then change your recording device in windows sound options.

I can confirm this bug, and the mentioned workaround works also for me!
It has nothing to do with the selection of soundcard in TS3 or the selected recording option in the windows sound options, as I tested pretty much any combination possible...
OS: WinXP
Card: SB Live! 5.1
Also from the comments above, it seems to be an issue with (older) Soundblaster cards...

Another member finally got back to me on what he has for a sound card.
Creative SB Live
So it definately seems to be an older Soundcard issue

I just noticed that the activate microphone button is grayed out - if that's any help.

Mic problem
I recently installed and updated TS3, I haven't had any issues with TS2 it still works to this day, but for some reason, i can't talk in teamspeak 3. I can hear everybody just fine, but to them it sounds like i'm an a shower (water sounds). The only time i can hear myself in test mode is if i blow into my mic, and even then it is VERY faint, with a loud distortion (rain or shower sound) overpowering my mic.
I've checked my levels etc, it works fine in teamspeak 2 and every other app i use, but i can't seem to figure this one out, and i've looked everywhere. Any help/ideas would be appreciated.
I'm on Vista 32bit with onboard realtek 7.1 (believe it is ac97).
Pancho
*edit* I would also like to add that i've tried running as admin, and in compatibility modes as well. Also tried uninstalling my sound drivers and reinstalling. I uninstalled/reinstalled TS3 as well. Nothing yet.
*edit2* It works if i disconnect my mic from my headset, and plug it into the front of my computer, it won't work in the back, but in teamspeak 2 and all my games it plugs into the back and works fine.Last edited by xX7Pan7cho7Xx; 26-01-2010 at 01:06.

Same problem here. Can hear everyone, but can't talk. I use TS˛ since 2005 without problems.
---
If I start TSł, it kills my microphone. It's just dead. No way to reactivate it. "Activate Microphone" is always grey. If I hit my Push-to-talk hotkey (ALT GR) the blue lamp does not flash up. Test Voice and the other options neither, it feigns death.
If i start TS˛ then, the microphone is dead in TS˛ too.
Drivers are ok, but I don't have a front micro-in, i can change to
.
*edit: Well, if I start TS˛ first without connecting to a server and load TSł then, it works o_O. This is... strange...!Last edited by Rudol; 26-01-2010 at 21:15.

Bump
I'm having this same problem as the starter post as well. I've tried two mics, a GE and a Logitech. Neither works on TS3, but both work fine on Ventrilo and most in game VOIP's.
OS: Windows XP 32bit
Sound card: SB Live series
