    [REQUEST] "needed_listen_power" permission

I'm requesting a new permission, and I guess it would be something like "needed_listen_power".

This would mute a client's audio in TS3 if they joined a channel where their "listen_power" was not the same as or higher than the channel's "needed_listen_power".

Would just be easier to prevent them from entering the channel?

I was thinking more or less for an AFK channel, so that it would mute the TS3 sound notifications from other users joining / leaving channels and the server. Using "needed_talk_power" I can mute their mic's, but not the notification sounds.

    But needed_talk_power wouldn't do that.

You'd really want a setting on the default channel permissions to prevent notifications.

That's what I said... talk power mutes their mics, but not the TS3 notifications, this is what I was looking for.

Re: Sorry, this is a stupid request. Won't be implemented.

In regards to this thread: http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.php?p=213734

Gee... thanks for the wonderful support!

And I don't think it's a stupid request to ask to have the ability to mute teamspeak's audio output on the client side in a specific channel.

For the sole purpose of an AFK channel, one where people go when they're going to be away from their computer for a couple of hours (but would still like to be able to get messages from other users) it would be nice to not have to listen to the notification sounds as people join and leave channels and the server.

I think this is on you to turn your sound off, and not a server thing. also there are offline messages in ts3.

See, that's a much more appropriate response than the other guy left. I appreciate your courtesy.

I was only requesting it for sheer convenience. Remembering to un-mute your sound when you come back, or teamspeak doing it automatically for you when you leave the AFK channel.

I've also restricted messaging so that guests can't spam members with messages.

I saw the thread earlier today before it was edited, and the thread was closed at that time (which is why this thread was started I'm sure). It was edited by a different moderator, so apparently they saw how inappropriate the post was. I like how they used "morale" as the reason for editing.

Even though they disliked the suggestion, it was ridiculous that they would call it a "stupid request", especially being a TeamSpeak support rep. Completely unprofessional.

You can leave AFK channels moderated (Talk Power = 100). That way, noone will be able to talk there, but they will be able to talk when they leave the AFK channel and head for a non-moderated one.

    Hope that helps.

Ya, I know that, and thank you for the tip. I was just trying to suggest a feature for muting sound output from TS3 in specific channels.

still i am thinking that is not needed for every user. it's your very specific feature request. you can go with a lua script or so, that handles this for you.
