ToDo List [On Todo] Constant DCs and Timeouts?

Currently I'm running the latest TS3 server, and Client.

There's been several issues getting others to connect for two days, until just yesterday, when everything seemed to sort itself out. I awoke, and came on to over a dozen people on the server. I go to log on my PC, and I fail to connect to the server.

The server box is sitting on my home network, and outside connections are perfectly capable of connecting to it without any issues, the only issue is with my main gaming rig unable to connect. From time to time, I connect, but I timeout within seconds.

I'm completely stumped as to what the issue could possibly be. I've pinged the server, and, unsurprisingly, I get a ping of well under 10ms (the gaming rig, and server box are barely 10 ft away from each other).

Connection to server for everybody is done by using DNS. I've attempted to use DNS, internal network IP, as well as external IP. I am completely unable to connect through the network IP, although external IP, and DNS both work sometimes.

Any help figuring this out, and fixing it would be greatly appreciated, as the only other route I have would be to shell out $10 a month for a dedicated server, and chances are, the vote on which kind of server to use would not favor teamspeak at all.

Does your provider disconnects you after 24 hours? The client try's to reconnect to old adress and not all provider update there dns adresses that fast , then others.

i have the same problem- the problem is not the actual internet connection being lost in my case. Sometimes one or more people gets randomly disconnected at the same time. sometimes it is only one where others stay online while others gets disconnected 2-4 times daily.

I'm having this same issue. I thought it might be my host but from reading this, probably not.

Basically what I see are random people getting disconnected (myself include), everything else on the network works fine.

Some people are able to reconnect without an issue, others aren't. Later on, they can connect again without a problem, without changing anything. Again, this has happened to me as well and I can verify that the rest of my net connection was working just fine when this happened.

When I left my client connected overnight just to see what would happen, I think I had 8 disconnects in a 12 hour period. This didn't happen before, so it's something recent.

    Causeless TS3 Timeouts

    Hello,

i have causeless timeouts with my Teamspeak 3 Client since i updated it to beta20 two or three days ago. This timeouts happen in irregular spaces from few seconds up to 2 or 3 hours and independent from other programmes like firefox, fillezilla or hlsw and games like css running or not. It tries to autoreconnect me into the server which works somethimes directly and somethimes doesn't work for minutes. I have these timeouts only on our Teamspeakserver beta21. On another Teamspeakserver running with beta22 i haven't got these problems. All other games and programmes are running perfectly with a relativ constant ping of 12ms while teamspeak is disconnecting because of timeout. Thats why i'm searching the fault anywhere in teamspeak itself and not in my connection. Running Teamspeak with higher priority in taskmanager has no effect. Same situation if AntiVir or/and Zone Alarm is disabled.

The OS is Windows XP Prof. SP2. I hope somebody can help me... I tried to talk with our webmaster this evening an had minimun 50 timeouts. -.^

    Thank you !

Yesterday i tried again and had no timeouts. I keep connected as well as i was afk to see if i get a timeout again - no timeouts for 10 hours. And then.....suddenly.....every few secods timeouts again. I've got really no idea what could be the problem.

    Hope somebody could help me.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

Same in German if the language should be a problem:

    Hi,

Now, after months of fighting with this problem ...

    I FOUND A FIX !!!!!!!!!...temporaraly

It's a somewhat "workaround" method, but I'm sure this is DEFINETLY not the perm fix, or else I'm really going to say "TS3? No thanks".

    What you'll need ...

    1. A place to announce your new server info

    and one of the following:

2a. Know how to use serverquery (or database tools) to change the server port

    or

2b. Have multiple IPs (this'd be no problem if you are using dynamic IPs, if you are using static IP, you are most likely stuck with the above option)
Yes, as you can probably guess from the knowledge you are required to fix this problem, that the cause of the mass disconnection probably comes from that perticular port at that perticular IP, so change one of those will solve the problem.

However, changing just the IP and keeping the port untouched doesn't seem to work well if those IPs are still static IPs. I have 3 static IPs and I've been using them whenever one goes down, and there are times where all 3 IPs just won't work at all, unless the port is changed.

But, yeah, change your Port and/or your IP will get your case solved.

Hopefully this will help lots of you guys out there, and hopefully something for the devs to see if this could lead them to anything =\
