TS3 client spying & calling home???

I found this strange thing in my firewall logs: whenever I use TS3-client to connect to some TS3-server, it also makes connection to 80.190.225.130, port 17385. And this is an IP address from Phobyx GmbH & Co.KG. If I block this address, TS3-client can not connect to any TS3-server...

So my question is: Why is this little puppy trying to call mama, and what does it want to sneak???

Like every mum, she surely wants to make sure her babies keep away from bad company - and tells when it's time to come home to get a new dress. So the well behaved childs phone home everytime they wanna go to see someone, just to check if he's an evil guy mama knows of. That's all.

(please note that except for technical hosting issues I'm not related to this, so this is just my educated guess. Btw, you mistyped the IP )

Maybe. I have let it connect to that IP once, and since then it does not protest, even when I blocked it in my firewall. But I did not find an option to turn this feature off. Seems always to me suspicious when software connects to some address without my knowledge and permission...

Right, it should have been 80.190.225.139 : 17385

At a guess, its checking to see if that server is 'legal' or not (for rented servers).
