SSE Error

Ok so ive been useing TS2 for ages, And when TS3 came out i was extatic.
Untill i kept reciveing a constant SSE error message every time i loaded the client after installing.

Will it be possible to make a SSE free version of TS3 that will work on older PCs and Laptops but still be compatible with other TS3 users?

I use TS3 alot for gameing and everynow and then for room to room talk at the office.

See this is what i dont get if my PC hasnt got SSE i doubt i would be able to play on any games yet i play on Freelancer, C&C Generals Star wars Empire at war etc, Not the newest games out there but by far the last two are not the oldest and they run fine so is it the PC or TS itself thats giving me the fingure XD.

well since SSE came out in 2001, i think it isnt a big problem to alienate non SSE users. I'm sure you could get a nice new system which wouldent be too expensive.

No thats the issue the PC has SSE but TS says it dosent, When i had the 5th beta of TS it installed fine and gave me a diffrent error but i could open it but just not log onto any servers so maybe its TS itself and not the PC.

you can add to the ts3 shortcut this "-nocpucheck" and it will work

Since TS3 came out, I've been unable to talk to my gaming friends because of the requirement for SSE support. My system is fairly old, a 1ghz amd athlon, but I'm a poor college student and buying a whole new system just to run a simple voice chat program is completely out of the question, so I just have to go to ventrillo.
Teamspeak2 ran perfectly fine and was the only client my friends used, so i'm pretty upset that I can't talk to them anymore.
So unless a new version comes out that doesn't require a high end processor to run, I will unfortunately no longer be using teamspeak.

SSE is an instruction set that was introduced in Pentium III / Athlon XP (thats where those reqs came from). Im no expert, but i'd say that it is required for the encryption of the voice communications, and so, i don't think that it will be changed.

EDIT: I just realized something, i am running the server in a linux box powered by a Pentium II Celeron 266, which doesn't have SSE obviously, so what i just said doesn't make much sense. I'd like to see what devs have to say about this, btw

SSE is needed for a couple of operations in the client, which gain a performance boost when running with SSE. The observation that the server doesn't have the same SSE requirement makes sense, as it's a client-side thing.

We are aware of this SSE issue and will look into it.

The question whether a PIII or Athlon can be considered a "high end processor" is, well, debatable.

I searched 20 threads and 100 sites but i could not find an answer about this message.

Your CPU does not support the SSE Instruction set.
TeamSpeak 3 will not run on your computer.

What does it mean and what can i say to my friends which having this problem.
The Computer is almost New and one is a Vista and the other one is XP. We tried to download the newest Direkt X but nothing.

Maybe somebody can help me. The perfect help would be a anwser in german so i don't have to translate.

Hi, the message simply means that your CPU is to old to run TS3.

If you think your CPU should support SSE, test it with the programm from the second link or post your CPU model

I have downloaded ts3. It downloaded fine. I am having issues running it. I get error box stating the following, "Your cpu does not support the sse instruction set. ts3 will not run on your computer. Is there a fix for this?
