Question TS3 Client on XP SP3 & TS3 Server on Ubuntu 9.10...can it be done??

    Good Afternoon All,

I am starting a guild on an MMO (Runes of Magic) and wish to have a TeamSpeak Server/Client setup for the guild.

Now my question is this: Can you run a Linux Server of TS3 and use a Windows Client to log into it? Or does it have to both Windows/Windows & Linux/Linux?

I did look over the FAQ and Searched this forum for questions along this line. I will be using Windows XP SP3 and Ubuntu 9.10.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi

You can do that without absolutely any problem. The client and the server are completely interoperable between systems.

Thank you for the speedy reply on that.
Now the next question is this:

Should I load the Linux version of TS3 on my Ubuntu box or try to run it under Wine?
I already have the Tar Ball downloaded, just wanted a clear picture before trying this. Thanks again.

Ubuntu seems to have some issues with teamspeak 3 though. I'm not sure but in the forums ubuntu seems to be in a lot of threads. TS3 is runing fine on my debian lenny box. wouldn't recommend using (s)wine.

Ubuntu clients (And Linux-dists in general that uses PulseAudio) have issues with the client. Not the server.
