[Solved] No wat to change connection port of ts3 server ?!
I had a host in a LAN, and configured the rounter NAT for mirror ports 3780~3785 (UDP & TCP) to Internet about my host.
3780 (UDP) for hlds, a cs server
3781 (TCP, UDP) for srcds, a css server
3783 (TCP) for TS2 Server configuration Web
3785 (UDP) for TS2 Server connection
3785 (TCP) for my host remote.
I wanna stop ts2 server and run a ts 3 server, get a Non-Profit License file and installed the ts3 server in the right way then clients can join the server by default port and work fine.
my steps (all in a commands line window):
first running "ts3server_win32.exe" with comand "createinifile=1"
close server and rename "ts3server.ini" to "3785.ini"
=== 3785.ini content ===
machine_id=
default_voice_port=9987
voice_ip=0.0.0.0
licensepath=
filetransfer_port=30033
filetransfer_ip=0.0.0.0
query_port=10011
query_ip=0.0.0.0
query_ip_whitelist=query_ip_whitelist.txt
query_ip_blacklist=query_ip_blacklist.txt
dbplugin=ts3db_sqlite3
dbpluginparameter=
dbsqlpath=sql/
dbsqlcreatepath=create_sqlite/
dblogkeepdays=90
logpath=logs
logquerycommands=0
dbclientkeepdays=30
====================
and next time runnning "ts3server_win32.exe" with command "inifile=3785.ini"
now, all steps before is ok, clients can join server by default port.
trouble start here:
i said my host in a LAN, so i wanna change the TS3 server ports and my friends can join server by Internet.
readed "server_quickstart.txt" change connection and other useful ports
edit "3785.ini" file
...
default_voice_port=3785
filetransfer_port=3784
query_port=3783
...
then running server again... clients can't connect to server, it's display "Failed to connect to serve", restore modify from "3785.ini" and server working fine ...
how to fix this problem? help !

This is just a guess but have you tried renaming the ini file back to ts3server.ini with your custom settings?close server and rename "ts3server.ini" to "3785.ini"

Did your clients tried to connect to port 9987, because I think that should work. I think that you can't change the port a virtualserver listens on by changing the port in the config.
You must resetup the whole server with the new config, or change the port via telnet.

Did you actually read server documentation?...
It clearly says that default_voice_port is an one-time directive, only used when you launching your server first time, before you create a database.
After that you have to use query console to change voice port.
And delete your INI file, you don't need it until you actually understand how it works.
