Can i transfer teamspeak 3 settings to a new server?
I have a server setup with gameservers.com but i just got a VPS to host TS3 off of and i dont want to recreate all of the MANY settings and groups and ranks and icons and such i created. Is there a way to transfer everything from this one to the one on the VPS?
thanks.

you probably want to copy over the ts3server.sqlitedb file and if there has been lots of uploading to channels then the files folders as well.

You might have to e-mail them and ask them if you can get that file then. It's located in the TS3 Server main directory. At the moment, there isn't an export that i'm aware of but i think it's on the todo somewhere. Aside from that, i think you are out of luck for any easy ways.

Games servers will notgive the server SQL to him. because it holds all of their servers in 1 file. so that would be like giving out a whole states info in 1 file. I think i already know their answer because i use them for my TS3 hosting.

Since it is hosted by a 3rd party you will most likely have to rebuild your database from scratch. You could try contacting them and asking them to use the snapshot feature on your server specifically. I have no clue how this works since I haven't tried to use it.

I use gameservers as well, and while I didn't ask them to move the data over, I doubt they will. Without a native way to do it through TS3, it's probably more work than they'll do.
I moved my server to another geo, which meant I had to redo everything from scratch. Which, while a pain in the butt turned out to be better as I didn't carry over my old mistakes. heh
But yeah, and import/export function would rock, I hope they get that added in soon.

There are 2 permissions in TS3 that I think perform this function but I have not tested this theory...
b_virtualserver_snapshot_create
b_virtualserver_snapshot_deploy
