More than 512 slots ....

I ve recently saw 2 servers having 500+ users / 650 slots.

How can we upgrade our server to support more slots ?

Non profit license will get you up to 512. If you need more then you need to buy a profit license. Or if you guys aren't using it for a profit then you might be able to convince them to allow you to give you more then 512 slots but you have to probably show some kind of proof that your clan or guild has more then 512 people and that your server is continuously full / busy. I'm not sure the exact criteria so don't quote me. Your sales questions should be directed at Triton.

You won't convince them. I tried two times with no luck. I own klanok.hu, it is full 512/512 in the evenings. No discount, no advantages although it is still in beta phase and it would be the time of popularize TS3.

My Quad-Core Xeon Linux box runs at 40-50% CPU with 512 users online, bandwidth 2-3MB/s (voice only) + file transfer possible.
Let's say I can handle 1000 users with this server (added file transfer possibility, no lag, stable uptime) and I can't use this server for other tasks, only TS3.
It is 80EUR/month to rent the server with 100Mbit. 80*12 = 960EUR / year. (it is cheap!)
Buy 1000 slots from Triton = 374EUR / year
Total costs: 1370EUR / year

1000 users = 40 clans ( 25 slots for each clan)
1 clan = 4EUR / month = 48EUR / year (we are in Hungary, no expensive servers allowed!!!)
48 * 40 = 1920EUR / year

My profit if no other work is involved = 45EUR / month / server
