Whatever is going through my headset is being output to my mic when i talk

Whatever is going through my headset is being output to my mic when i talk. Thus, while i am playing a game if i go to speak, everyone can hear what i am hearing in game. It is very loud to them and obviously annoying. It is not the mic picking up the sound from the earphones, as the sound is very clear and detailed, not like something it just picks up. All of my settings in ts3 are correct in that they say to use my mic for recording and headset for sound. What is going on? I have windows xp.

Turn your volume down or turn down your mic sensitivity

Thats the normal settings for Windows XP. Your normal recording device is set to stereo mix (only on Windows XP and older versions). You have to change it to microphone.

Don't have Win XP to guide you, sorry. But i found 2 tutorials for this.

Do you use a headset or speakers/mic? Do you use PTT or voice activation?
