Solved [Solved] Permission Bug? (about permid=16770)

    Hi Folks!

Got a very odd problem with TSviewer.com and tsviewer by Resistant-X, caused by the permid=16770.

Please excuse me in case I'm posting this in the wrong section.

The short version of the story
My TS3 Server (32-bit 3.0.0-beta23) is running without any problems on a Windows Server 2003 machine. It runs 2 Virtual servers on different UDP ports.

I tried to setup TSviewer.com, and ran into the permission issues described in FAQ, under "Error Code: 2568 insufficient client permissions". Then I started giving permissions on the sgid=1 (Guest Server Query group) via telnet, for the permissions that failed, and were responsible in not getting the viewer working. Sequentially, the problems were on permissions with the id 8470, then 8472, then 8474.
After granding permvalue=1 on the permid=8470, 8472 and 8474 for the sgid=1 I finally got the two TSviewers working, showing my virtual server's channels tree.
BUT, after a client connects I get "insufficient client permissions (failed on channelgrouplist 16770/0x4182)", and TSviewers do not show anything else.
So the odd thing is that even if I set:
    servergroupaddperm sgid=1 permid=16770 permvalue=1 permnegated=0 permskip=0
I still get the above error. When all clients disconnect, the TSviewers work fine again.

I tried rebooting the whole TS3 Server, but the problem persists.

Am I doing something wrong with the permissions?
Do other fellow Server admins have the same problem?

PLEASE help me on this matter (about permid=16770 error).

Thank you in advance, and keep up the good work guys!
    -Kostas.

As soon as a client is connected to your TeamSpeak 3 Server, the viewer script will automatically try to query the list of server/channel groups to be able to display the correct icons on your website.

Actually, this should work as soon as you're adding the permissions to the ServerQuery guest group (command will be allowed on all virtual servers), but while testing this we noticed that there's seems to be a difference in the way the server checks the permission for the servergrouplist and channelgrouplist commands.

To fix this issue, assign the permissions to your servers guest group instead. I'll contact a dev to get some additional information on this.

We've just uploaded a pre-release version of the TeamSpeak 3 Server (3.0.0-beta25-pre) which should fix this issue. Please retest using this version:
