Solved Request New message for Moderated channels

The biggest problem I see with new users, is that when they enter a moderated channel, They have no idea how to ask for talk power.

They don't understand why they can't talk, and have come up numerous annoying ways to ask for talk power, that do not involve right clicking on their name and clicking on "Request Talk Power"

It would be nice if the default install of the client included the "Request Talk Power" button on the menu, but they still might not understand what they have to do.

So, currently when you change channels, a message is displayed *** You are now talking in channel: "Some Channel"

It might be helpful that when the client checks to see if the channel is moderated and determines the users talk power and decides that the user is supposed to have a muted mic displayed, that it displays a new message along with the previous.

*** You are now talking in channel: "Some Channel"
*** Channel is Moderated: Right click your name to request talk power

I think this would stop lots of confusion for new users, and make many moderators happy.

Another similar option would be to use a confirmations message that pops up that they click OK on. Of course like all confirmation windows have a "do not show again" check box so that once they know how to do it they can set it to not bother then anymore. The case that this confirmation window would be shown would be the same as SGT mentions for the extra message line text.

This would come in very handy, especially for newer users, when entering a moderated channel.

I might have missed something here, but why not put any relevant information in the channel description?

Yourself, you can always put the information you believe apropriate, as the channel description.

The proposed Screech of a pop, I feel very good.
