Actually TeamSpeak works on the same device, ie a single sound card at a time.

What about using multiple cards, say one card for input and the other for output ? This would reduce noise, and would allow to send sound to dedicated speakers, as well as other things imagineable.

I do this. I have an SBlive 5.1 card, but my motherboard has built-in sound as well, which I use for my TS headset. Quite happy with that setup.

I also have a SB card + integrated sound card in the motherboard, and it's working very well, as long as I select one sound card.

What I suggest is to setup eg microphone on the Sound Blaster and speakers on the motherboard's sound card. I don't think it is possible actually. Am I wrong ?

actually that's why you can select an input and output device in your TS Client under settings / options.

No I can't. Either I'm misusing the software or there I am really blind.
I'm using the linux client BTW. Does it change something ?

In the Options->Settings dialog, the first tab "Sound Devices" sets the "Sound Driver" and the "Sound Buffer Size" but there is no possibility to configure Input and/or Output.

If you have no nother choices listed in your "Input Device" or "Output Device" then you need to install the windows drivers for the other sound cards in your system.

Once you have loaded the windows drivers for the second card they will be listed in these fields and will be selectable.

Do you mean that I may install windows drivers for my linux client ?

No you will need to load the linux drivers for your second soundcard. (if you can).

I am not a linux user and have never run TS on a Linux box but I assume you can choose from more than one device in TS2(Linux) assuming you can install more than one soundcard in Linux.

Multiple sound cards can be used simultaneously under linux applications, but unfortunately TS2 does not propose to select one device for the input and the other for the output. You can select a device, but it is used for both input AND output.

I didn't know that the windows client was able to select a device for in and a device for out. Thank you for the info, I will try it once I get my hands on a Windows box.
