There has to be something blocking the external connection. Try turning off your anti-virus for testing purposes. Double check to make sure the windows firewall isn't activated as well.
What is the make and model of your router? Type of internet connection? Do you have a separate modem from your router? Have you checked that for a firewall?

It should be TCP. The only port that uses UDP is the voice port.

I'm having the same issue as the avlov guy was on the last page. I can connect with out any problems via the local IP. I've followed the directions on portforward's site: http://portforward.com/english/route...eamSpeak_3.htm <------my router looks just like that now in the port forward section. Ports are forwarded to my systems local IP.
I also used the pfportchecker program, and it says that the ports are open but it's unable to ping my router. I am stumped on this. I used to have a working server on this machine, but my router reset so I had to redo the ports etc.
All firewalls are disabled including my AV at the moment, still not working. No one can connect from external IP.
Any tips?
SOLVED: The portforward site was asking for port 8767 to be forwarded for UDP on my router, it always wanted 9987. Changed it to that, and BINGO. Fixed.
used this UDP http://portforward.com/english/route.../TeamSpeak.htm <----TS2.Last edited by Uprising; 16-02-2011 at 01:20.

Honestly the easiest way to solve this in my opinion would be for you to setup a dyndns account. It is a free service and you can set it up in your router to update it whenever your ip changes. The name you can setup to be whatever you want with dyndns.org or other options too at the end of it.That is how my ts3 server is setup and is much easier in my opinion so i dont have to be handing out my external ip to everyone. That's my 2 cents anyway hope this helps

The DynDNS is only for IP forwarding, because the changes after 24 hours. This means whenever you change your IP provider, in my five Clock in the morning, your friends also need the new IP, which is bridged with DynDNS, because that remains the same and your IP will be updated automatically behind them. So you do not read their IP again and pass on to their friend. Check your settings again shut down, the firewall and anti-malware software. update their router firmware.
EDIT:
Have you ever tried to switch off their computer directly to your modem without the router in between? If the connection then unable to come, it is perhaps at the DMZ (demilitarized zone) setting in the router, please check again.Last edited by Jimmy.de_A.C.T.O.; 16-02-2011 at 09:32.

Did you change the default voice port when you created your server? If not then you have the wrong port, it should be 9987.

You shouldn't need to forward ports unless you are hosting a server. Are you positive you have the correct IP and port? I get the same error when I attempt to connect.
