Channel Admin Not Overwriting Server Group
Hi,
I am trying to allow my channel admins, to kick people from their channel to the default channel. From what I understand the move power of the user has to be higher than the target to kick from the channel.... however... its not working...
Current Settings:
Server group
i_client_kick_power = null
i_client_needed_kick_power = 25
i_client_move_power = null
i_client_needed_move_power = 25
Channel group
i_client_kick_power = null
i_client_needed_kick_power = null
i_client_move_power = 60
i_client_needed_move_power = 25
When trying to kick someone from the channel, it first complains about insufficient kick power, once i increase the kick power it will complain about move power, which no matter how much i increase in the channel admin, its never enough, and all i end up with is channel admins who can kick from the server, but not from the channel : /
So the question is... where am I going wrong?
Note: I don't want users to be able to kick from the server or able to move users around all the channels, i understand they need to be able to move within their hierarchy and the default channel

Have you maybe "denied" these permission rights in a different permission group and set it to "skip" ?

Just an update... It appears that the server is insisting that people need kick power to kick people from the channel, and if we give it to them then they can kick people from the server : |
Count this maybe be a bug?

I'm aware and i stated that in the original post, might want to reread it
and Willy_sunny, that did solve some problems.... however now people are doing things that they dont have permissions to do... such as move people anywhere and kick ANYONE from the server... no power is granted to these people according to permissions overview

Alright... so what it really appears to be... when a user has CA, its the same as them having SA... except to use it they have to be in the channel... so whats the point of CA... why not give SA? No matter what we do, if we give them move power as a CA permission, they can move people ANYWHERE, regardless of if the target is in their channel or not, and though they might be able to move people, they still cant kick users from their channel as they do not have enough kick power.... this suggests that kicking from the channel requires both kick power AND move power.... so if we give that kick power... guess what... they can kick people from the server (obviously) and it again, it does not matter what channel the target is in... this also applies from kicking from channel.
So i ask, What is the difference between CA and SA, except the fact that the CA needs to be in his channel? Is this a bug?
Also, for those who doubt something here... feel free to pm me for the server details to see for yourself

I guess that the Permission system needs to be tweaked further, to have the TS3 anytime soon called "Final Built"

Seriously, itīs still Beta and those "bugs" or misinterpretations of rights need to be rotten out.
I myself have issues, so have others, where groups - or single users - can perform actions which theyre not even granted.
Even when theyre explicitly revoked they still can do some things.

Yeah i found that as well... hopefully the devs are aware of the bug... definitely not something you want to release with... And hopefully its fixed in the next release... its kinda a shitty limitation to have to deal with

Kick from channel needs to be changed and devs are aware of it.
