Totally new......Help
OKay I spent the last two days reading every forum I could and still Have Questions.
1.) Why can My clan only connect through public servers and not mine? I can connect to my own server but my friend gets "Server may be down or may not be running Teamspeak"
2.)The noise or reverb that has been mentioned...it sucks real bad. Should I get new Sound card or try going usb headphones? BTW I have AC97 sound onboard. Or did someone actually find a fix or patch for this?
3.) Public servers..where are the mods at? What does "please idle at irc quakenet # teamspeak mean? I have searched for this and have no friggin' idea how to get into the Quakenet channels!
Well thats all for now ..But I may think of more.. So please HELP

1. most probably you're using some firewall / router which blocks out traffic...
2. I'd suggest to get another cheap soundcard or an usb headset.
3. quakenet is an irc networt... download an irc-client (like www.mirc.com ) and connect to one of the quakenet-servers...
after that join #TeamSpeak

Re: Totally new......Help
Actually it is likely that you are using a local IP adress for your computer on your home network, and not the outside IP adress that your ISP gives you, there are 2 solutions for this, if you are useing a router, go into the routers web page, likely as not 192.168.1.1 and select advanced from the top, then goto DMZ host and put your computers local IP adress there. If you dont have a router, right click on your teamspeak server, and give the IP adress that doesnt start with 192, 172, 10, or 225. If neighther of them start with that try one, and then the other, and if that still doesnt work, then I have no idea.
1.) Why can My clan only connect through public servers and not mine? I can connect to my own server but my friend gets "Server may be down or may not be running Teamspeak"
This is likeley caused because your microphone is catching what your speakers are putting out, echos is what my friends call it. You dont need a USB headset, but get a pair of headphones, and then they wont carry to your microphone. If it is something different then I have no idea what it could be.
2.)The noise or reverb that has been mentioned...it sucks real bad. Should I get new Sound card or try going usb headphones? BTW I have AC97 sound onboard. Or did someone actually find a fix or patch for this?
Thats what I know, see you later.

Thanks for the tips...
I have no router and my ip address is not local actually it shows 3 ips address' and only one is 192.... the other 2 are identical.
We are able to direct connect using ip # to play other games but not for the teamspeak.
Also I am currently using a boom mic on a mono headset. But this noise also occurred using a regular mic and my speakers. So I assume it would be Sound Card

Well SatanClaus.. I double checked it and yes it is deactivated.
I also re-read the manual and changed the bound to ip..since it shows 3 of them one local...so I bound to the non local ip. For some reason it is listed twice though...I cannot get hold of anyone to try to connect at this time...You think this might have fixed it?..

It often shows double ip's .. it checks the ip's from the system but doesn't filter them.. if you type ipconfig you often see your ip 2 times..
As fixing the problem? i don't know.. i hope so for you..
If it didnt then: How are you connected to the internet?

Hello..SATANCLAUS and Helza Thanks for the help I know we users seem quite lazy sometimes.....
I was found in another forum a line that was missing from my server.ini
That line was ServerUDPPort=8767.....umm I feel that that might be needed in the ini.
But just simply typing it in will work?

*IP*
um, why do you bind the TS server IP to a NON local IP ?
As far as I get it, this feature is for PC's with more then 1 NIC, so the PC has 2 different IP. TS must now know on which IP / Port it should listen.
The IP you've bound it now, seems to be a WAN IP, that "should" never work !
*Cable Modem*
Is NAT a term for you ? Most access devices (modem, router) usually allow to connect more then one PC to be connected to the WAN. If your device allows this, then it MUST do NAT or IP MASQ.
=> you need to do a port forwarding.

guldi: binding to the WAN ip on that pc means it access/uses that ip for everything.. which is good
..
if it sends something to a client and says source=LAN_IP then it won't work ..
although TS should/is be able to do that correctly by itself...

I 'm pretty sure its that
ServerUDPPort=8767
thinggie
thats really required in the ini file else it doesn't know where to send it..
binding to an ip should only needed if you have multiple network cards (like guldi said)

When using TS2 RC2 please don't write anything like that into your server.ini, because those serverports are handled in your server.dbs ...Originally posted by Helza

your TCPQuery- and WebInterface-Ports are an exception, because they belong to the main process... all other udp ports which are used for the voice-com are related to their specific sub-processes and thus set in the server.dbs.
