Cannot Save Settings
Dear,
TS3 works perfekt, I use the server for my guild now. I must say before I was thinking about ventrilo, thats now history. Good job.
My problem on OSX Snow Leopard:
I open the app and the first a red window occur "Teamspeak3 cannot write to the configuration file .....". I see the topic in Windows forum too, so I checked the content of app the the rights, gave them a 777 from comandline, but didn't works.
Whats wrong? Where resist the configfile normally?
best regards from Germany

Configuration is saved to $HOME/.ts3client/ on Mac OS X (and Linux). A problem writing to your home directory is a surprise.
There is a commandline option "-homeconfig" and "-localconfig" to switch saving the config into home or the installation folder. But on Mac unless explicitly specified, the default is saving to home.
For beta3 I added a debug output when that messagebox triggers:
"Failed writing to config file: <path>"
That might help resolve the issue. Currently I'm a bit lost here. On Windows I'd understand it when people install with config in installation dir and then do not run as admin user. But on Mac config should always go into $HOME unless changed via commandline parameter.

omg - thank you. I checked all settings, but that my homedir wasn't writable I didn't realized.
Works now, I think is a Apple issue. The userid was wrong, was my old before I upgraded my notebook.
Yes, a debug output will be very helpfull to prevent from stupid questions
thanks!

To be more inline with the mac platform it would be much neater to store the config files in the library under application support. But i do understand that you would like to keep linux and mac osx somewhat similar.

I agree, ~/Library is more fitting. This is on my TODO list but it's not exactly the top priority at the moment, I wouldn't call it a show-stopper.

Cannot Save Settings
One of my users using a Mac is getting this:.
I don't know anything about Macs, can someone tell me what she needs to do?“TeamSpeak 3 cannot write to the configuration file:
/Users/mother/.ts3client/ts3clientui_qt.conf
You can use TeamSpeak 3, but all settings will be lost! “

Cannot save configuration details in OS X Lion
I am attempting to install TS3 on a Mac running OS X Lion and it gives me an error stating that it can run the application but cannot write to the configuration file. Any clue how to fix this? Thanks.

Go to disk utility (Applications --> Utility --> Disk...), select your hard drive, select "repair ... permissions"

I tried the above solution and I still get the error. I understand you're working on a fix for this (which I appreciate
) but could someone walk me through the solution for this if it has one at the moment?
Im running OS 10.6.8 with client 3.0.2
Thanks!
