MySQL-database
Hi,
The next thing I'd like to see on TeamSpeak, is the possibility to store the Teamspeak user-info in a custom MySQL database with custom query's, so you can develop an up to date version of WebPost.

I would like to see this idea taken one step further and have an API for plugging in an authentication system. How easy would this be to do? I am thinking about using an LDAP source.

That'd be nice! I hate that TS passwords are stored in the DB in plaintext. I don't want to know what my users are using for passwords!

I too am looking forward to MySQL being implemented!

Support is implemented but embedded will never be. It's because of MySQL licenses. We would have to charge 400 euro for each server download

can TS be made so that it can access a MySQL database tables that would hold the same info that is presently held in the SQLite db that TS uses?

Ah, I think I understand. You can offer a MySQL client, but not the DB server. Users have to acquire, install, and configure that themselves. (Fortunately, many hosting providers include it in the package.)

Can we switch the database?
Does the most recent version of Teamspeak allow changing the SQL database to a MySQL database? what do we need to do to point to this alternate tool?

I really like that idea. You could store almost all data about users and channels on the LDAP server. I'd really like to see some kind of SDK for TS so users could create their own interfaces to their database back ends.Originally posted by rincewind23

An SDK would make the most sense - if the Teamspeak guys are planning to make a MySQL backend, maybe they could make this API, and then implement their MySQL backend using this API?
