TS3 client audio problem (robotic sound)
Hey ppl,
I'm hoping nobody else posted this, if yes im sorry, but I couldn't find any answers to solve this.
I'm hosting TS3 server for my WOW mates (on debian linux) and everything is just fine, but one of our mates has some client problems - im guessing some process in windows 7 interferes with TS3 client.
I came to this conclusion because he is connected to internet using optical fibers, so no latency, his skype and mumble (which uses same codec as TS - CELT and speex) works perfectly, and only way we can hear him is in channels where I decreased bandwidth usage.
But why is his client working only when decreased bandwidth?? hes on optic, his ping is better then everybody elses. I was thinking this is due to packet loss since most talk programs use UDP, but skype and mumble both work ok, and his ping and ping flood is best of all our clients.
Anybody has solution? except reinstalling windows?
And also, I recently updated to beta version clients (with this mate to see if something has changed) and now when running beta I cant see people in other rooms then my own... i found something on TS2 support to change something option to "clan" but in TS3 there is nothing like this...
help please

Have you checked his packet loss and his ping?
Is his sound driver up-to-date?
What client version does he use (a pre release or a normal beta release)?
Does it work without the Celt codec? Or less bandwith?
how fast(bandwith & ping) is his internet connection?

He is connected via optical fibre, so his connection is pretty fast (think he said something about 40MB/s .. yes megabytes not Mb) his ping flood to server has packet loss about 80-90% .. even with large packets (we tried everything from 32B up to 4086B packets) and it still hangs at 80% average.
and when I changed room settings to speex codex (default) and increased delay and decreased sound quality - bandwidth usage bout 2-4kB/s - his voice didnt tear so much.. when we used CELT and higher bandwidth his voice was lagging - like when packets are lost.
I thought from beggining his internet connection is poor, but when we tried that ping, this is not the case. and also, skype and mumble (which uses SAME codecs as TS) worked perfectly
His problem is same with all available versions (stable and beta) we tried them all, and no change.
So my thoughts are that something in his W7 is causing either packet loss or delaying packets one from another.
When he named his running processes, nothing seemed to be connected to this, so I dont have any clues whatsoever.
