I think you enabled on of these options in windows.

1 Right-click your sound icon (white speaker) next to the clock
    2 Click on Playback deviced
3 Now click on tab Commounications
4 Now make sure "Make nothing" is set

Option 2 would be to check for an exclusive mode on your playback device. Just right-click it in the list and then on properties and in last tab you will find these options.

Is a plugin enabled? Maybe our volume Control Plugin is running.

I have no other idea, why all other sound can dissapear with that soundcard.

As said i have no other idea, because i know that this soundcard worked in all other beta's.
A last try would be to upsdate to our latest RC1 release.

Here you is an how to get it:

I'm starting to feel kinda ignored around those forums here...

I already posted a solution, several times, which DID work for me and a lot of friends who had the same problem. However, nobody here in the forums seems to find my posts...

However, i'll tell you one more time.

This problem, btw. it's a Creative-only issue, is caused by mismatching sound configurations of Windows 7 itself and the Creative-drivers.
Here's how to get rid of it:

Go to the Control-Panel, and click on sounds. That window where all the currently available devices are displayed should pop up.
Mark the playback device you are using (should be named something like Creative SB X-FI) and click on configure on the lower left of the window.
From there, follow the instructions, and remember to set your configuration to the same as you did in Creative-ConsoleLauncher. That means if you use headphones/2.1 speakers, set the Windows7 configuration to stereo, if you use 5.1 on consoleLauncher, set it to 5.1 in Windows7-Configuration and so on...

    regards

    TS 3 silences everything

    Afternoon,

I have recently installed TS 3 on my new laptop, however i am unable to use it, cause everytime i log into a server everything goes silent - all running programmes / games / youtube music etc.

    So far i have tried:

Reinstalling TS 3 completelly (2x, no help)
Updating sound card drivers (they are up to date)
Made sure the Volume Control plugin isnt used
Changing settings as advised in several similar topics - Options: Playback mode- i tried using both Automatical and Direct sound, made sure i choose my playback device (not hard to select on a laptop if u ask me)...
The deal is i can hear things like the Test Sound in Playback section, i can even hear (sometimes) "connected" upon login into server, but after 1-2 seconds everything (as mentioned above) goes silent...

I also made sure that the "do nothing" option is crossed if system recognizes communication.

    System info:

Win 7 64-bit with up to date SP
    Proc Intel core i3-2310M, 2.1GHz, 4CPUs
    4GB Ram
    Speakers: Conexant 20671 SmartAudio HD
    drivers are up to date

I actually noticed some progress, on very 1st installation i didnt even hear the test sound voice nor login sound
I also had by my name info that i have speakers disabled, which wasnt really truth since when i sclose TS and refresh all the programmes running the sound comes back (rarely i needed to restart my laptop). This is not showing anymore.

I noticed that TS 3 might be having issues with my Sound Drivers cause when playing a game i checked for sound options (after it went silent) and instead of device option for Speakers - conexant... there was "no sounddriver"..i alt tabbed to win, control panel - sound - drivers and again there was nothing found...So i closed TS3, restarted PC and puff, in both the game and win there were speakers fully functional again...

Since i am not really technical type and only followed advices posted in other topics i would love (for once) to get a complete advice how to fix this issue, cause i really need to be present on TS when stuff happens.

    Thanks in advance
