    Post Permissions with RC1

I have downloaded the new RC1 of Teamspeak and have been really happy with the new features/changes, but one thing I am not sure on is the permission system. I am not sure what it is but everytime I try and apply the "Server Admin" setting it doesn't seem to work.

If you look at the below thread, I am having the exact same problem. But my question is, I am liking the new layout on the permissions screen and wish to use it. Is there some type of problem with the permissions that were there before like an incompatibility ? If anyone has a solution or knows how I can get the functionality of the new permissions screen please comment.

    TIA - Spike.

The "new" layout for the permissions is the simplified version. You cannot customize the permissions very much using the simplified version. You have to use the advanced version if you want customized permissions.

I can appreciate that they are simple, but the point is I cannot even apply them once I set what I want.

Do you get an error when you try to apply them? What OS, server, and client version are you using?

I get the same error as the guy was getting in the post I linked. "No all permissions could be applied" then it just resets to "Unknown" in the dropdown box.

    OS: Windows 7
Server: Beta-30 (I am pretty sure)
    Client Version: 3 RC1

    I also get these errors.

How do you switch to the advanced version?

You have to enable the advanced permissions to see the old permissions screen.

    Settings->Options->Application

perhaps you are missing a grant permission related to the easy permission. Maybe if you reset your server's permissions to default then try using the easy permissions.

Log into serverquery, then issue "permreset"

When I run that command after selecting "use 1" it gives me this error "error id=516 msg=invalid\sclient\stype"

I'm having the same problem. I've reset all permissions on my virtual server using my web admin interface, but the problem still exists. I would like to use the simplified interface, but it won't let me.

[edit] I submitted a support ticket to my TS3 host, and here's what I got back:

[...] there was an issue with the TS3 server software(in no way our fault) that could cause someone to remove permissions from ever working again.
They actually released a script to fix this issue, which we can run on your server if you'd like (it also prevents it from ever happening again, they said in the changelog).
It will reset permission levels, but should be a permanent fix.
so I guess ask your host to do something like this.

I'm at a loss here. I have the same issue. I have completely reinstalled teamspeak3 server (linux-amd64), I login on the server. Use the token it showed at first launch, this makes me a member of the Server Admin group, go to permissions, add a new group and then I try to set this group as "Normal" for instance and it just errors out. "Not all permissions could be applied", "insufficient permission modify power". It just does not work.... Can anyone help me?

Update: Finally got it to work. Had to be a member of "Admin Server Query", which seems odd. seeing as I want to modify permissions on a single virtual server of which I was the administrator
