You won't loose any channel or user or permission during your update from beta30 to Rc1 server!
Make a copy of your database file called ts3server.sqlitedb (needed for a downgrade and it's alwasy better to have a backup)
Now download the server and extract it to the old server folder. Overwrite all files.
Start the server > done---------------------------------------------------------

It works from server beta 1-30

But some permissions won't be assigned to your groups when you update your server from beta1-21.---------------------------------------------------------

This failed miserably for me. I even backed up the ts3server.sqlitedb which I assumed containted all the settings. Now I have to reinstall from scratch and set everything up again. When I moved the new ts3server.sqlitedb files the server jus fails instead :P
Exactly what file contains all the settings so I know this in the future cause now I am going to spend at least an hour setting everything up again...

ts3server.sqlitedb < This is your database for SQL and contains all servers, channels, permissions and users.

Is it correct, that I'll get a *.run file by downloading the new Serverversion RC1?
I doesn't know, what should I dow now? Additional I use not the sqlitedb, I use the MySQL Database. What must be saved? How I must use the RUN - File?

.run is for the client. the server is compressed in a .tar file.

I did a fresh install and just moved in the database file, the server then fails to run, any chance you could tell me why or if i forgot something? :P I assume I have to do a fresh install, NOT RUN the server and then put the file in, or do I run the server first and then put the file in on the second run?

I've got the same problem.
Fresh install and copied the sql library from the beta30 version.
It works if i remove the sqllib file.
Copy pasted log from my terminal.
Also im bafed that the server doesnt see my license key as valid....2011-06-01 14:51:54.852398|INFO |ServerLibPriv | | Server Version: 3.0.0-r\
