    Question ClientQuery: Getting my CLID

I've been playing with the ClientQuery plugin for the last few days. It's great - I managed to export "who's speaking now" data from it to my LCD display in only a few hours using it.

What I haven't been able to work out is a way to get the current user's identity, i.e. *my clid*. With this I could then extract things like, current channel name & topic and my mute status easily (I can already do that for any manually selected user).

There must be a way to work out who i am, but I can't find it - there doesn't seem to be any sort of "whoami" equivalent...

Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi,

you are right this functionality was missing. You will like the upcoming client release, we improved clientquery a lot. One of the many new commands is "whoami", I quote the help file:

    Usage: whoami

    Retrieves information about ourself:
    - ClientID (if connected)
    - ChannelID of the channel we are in (if connected)

If not connected, an error is returned.

    Example:
    whoami
    clid=56 cid=1
    error id=0 msg=ok
This client should be ready for testing in beta channel by tomorrow. Keep tuned for an announcement on the Announcements board

Wow, that's great news. I thought I'd be notified of replies but it turns out I'm not. Good thing I decided to check "manually"!

switching to the beta channel now. I can't tell you how grateful I am for this change - I had coded in a messy regex field to allow a user to specify their normal username(s), but if they just missed that it looked like half the stuf didn't work... hooray for user proofing!

Right, fully tested it & integrated it into my app and it works like a charm. Thanks for implementing this.

Is there any schedule for upgrading the release channel with this feature?

P.S. I've also found the "subscribe to thread button"
