Identies what is it for ?

Basically in the past i have screwed up my ts by using IDENTITIES , it even rendered my server admin status useless & i ended up locked out of my server wtf? i run my own server ffs, any why is it even included, what is it's purpose ?
don't get me wrong here i think that ts2-3 server & client are far better than most solutions out there, but you have to be a code reader to fully understand how to get the most from your setup, ts3 code is something that i for one don't find that easy

Why do you have to be a cooder to understand what an Identies stands for?

The Identiy makes sure, that you are the only person, who gains access to your account (database entry) on a server.
No one else will get your permissions and nobody else will appear on other users friend list, because your Identity is a unique one.

The Identiy includes 2 things. But they are not important for you, to use the server and client.
    1. a local key - This key is needed to identify and complete the public key. Never send it to anyone!
    2. the public key - This is the UiD, you can see on a server.

The only important information for general users is
That such an identity can't be restored, when you forgott to export it under Settings > Identies
