teamspeak 3 server Debian Squeeze

I have a computer running debian squeeze commandline only running teamspeak 3 server.

I have a bt home hub 3 and have setup port forward
TCP 10011 10011
TCP 30033 30033
UDP 9987 9987
I can connect to the server fine locally.
whenever someone tries to connect from the outside they get one of two errors.
no tsdns found at " *my dyndns host name* "
if they use my tsdns hostname they get a different result:
tsdns found at "ts3dns.com" and queried successfully. result *my ip:9987*
tsdns found at " *my tsdns hostname* and queried successfully. result *my ip:9987*

the client log doesnt show anymore using my tsdns hostname and it doesnt connect.

during the beta stages my ts3 server worked perfectly externally but ever since tsdns was introduced i havent been able to get it to work externally and dont know why.

I guess this computer/server is on your home network. Do you have a dynamic IP ?
For test, a friend of you can connect using your IP address ?

my friend did try with my ip address and he got the error:no tsdns found at " *my ip address* "

A tsdns message is not necessary an error message. In the client it's an info message.
And there is no tsdns message with the IP address.

So, could he try with your IP address, please.

My friend did try with my ip address and it said failed to connect to server. in the client log it showed the info message no tsdns. im stuck because i cant seem to find any information log as to why people cant connect externally. btw i tryed running a teamspeak server on my windows machine and my friend couldnt connect to that eiether (after i turned off my linux teamspeak server) my router is a bt home hub 3. if i dont use tsdns do you need to specify the port in the client? and if so how? my friend tryed adding it to the end of the address with the : prefix but when saved it got deleted off the end.

It's normal with the default port.

But about the connection problem, are you 100% positive that the forward rules on your server point to the good local IP ?
Is there firewall, do you check it ?

I have forwarded the rules to the correct local ip and have also tryed putting the computer in the dmz to test for a test and it still didnt work.

Some router, require a port range instead the port, 9986-9989 instaead 9987-9987

Turns out it was my router.
setup the same port forward rules with my other router and it works fine.
