    TS3 server stops after a few days

    Dear all,

    I run a TS3 server 3.0.0 on a Windows server 2008 R2.

    The server is a virtual server rented from hosteurope. The server is freshly installed and has - besides Plesk - no other third application runing at the moment.

    On the TS3 server usually a couple of people chat in the evenings

    My problem is that the TS3 stops every now and then.
    I have no clue why.

    There is nothing bad in the log. does the server stop working when the last entry in the log was made?

    What do you mean with "crash"?
    Is it still running and everybody gets disconnected? Or do you have to restart the server?

    The software just stops

    It is hard to say what happens when the software stops running as there was nobody on the server at the moments when he stopped.
    My friends noticed it when they wanted to connect and could not.

    It seems he stops around the time when the last protocol entry is made. I assume/conclude that from the log that was made by TSviewer on http://www.tsviewer.com/index.php?pa...timerange=week.

    Once somebody tells me that TS is not running I use remote desktop and just double-click on the executable file to restart the server.

    The process also really closes when the software "crashes" as it was not loaded in the memory anymore once I logged onto the server.

    Do you have more log entrys, when the server crashed?

    This log entry appears 3 times in the same second, but it should come up after 3 minutes.

    Server Crash every Day at the same Time -> pruning old log entries

    Linux Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
    Server Version: 3.0.0 [Build: 14957]

    Every day at the same time crashes my TS3-Server All users are kicked from the server and can connect no more. But when I query the server status, I get a server running. Then when I stop the server, it locks up and does not stop.

    In the putty-console comes Server stopping..................................... -> full Screen Points -> not more but the server does not stop. I must make a putty-relog and kill the Process manually via htop/putty.

    But always in the same period when the server crashed, I find this log entry:

    I am a bit afraid to post it, but the server is running since more then a week now.
    There is nothing I have changed but a few manual html edits on the website on the serverside.
    There is also nothing I have changed Teamspeakwise on the server. I think there was a new client release, but I am not sure.

    I know it's not helpful what I post, but I just wanted to give a status report, as I see that you look into the topic and don't want to waste your time unnecessarily. Thank you for your efforts, especially for deciding to release TS for free for hobby communities

    Hi. I don't think the problems are related, but OK. My answer is for the first problem:
    Please try changing the query port to something else than the default 10011. I experienced instability like this (crash after a few days) after adding my server to the status-tracking website GameTracker.com, which has no options to remove it. Changing the query port will stop servers you don't know from querying your server.

    Sorry for thread necromancy but I have exactly the same problem but I am running Version 3.0.1 on Debian Linux (lenny) x86. There is no log entry made anywhere in the system when the TS3 process just dies.
    It has been a persistant problem for some time now and I want to try out the query-port solution (even though there are no query connections made to my server that are displayed in the log). Just when I start the server with the normal startscript it won't allow more than 1 commandline parameter.
    => I just blocked port 10011 on my firewall.
    + I changed the server so it runs with root permissions (don't like that solution but it's worth a try)

    One thing I still have nagging on my "This might be the problem" list is the fact that I am using a virtual server and some people on my Host-System sometimes seem to overuse their parts of it: Once or twice a week when I try to check my server I am unable to login via SSH due to timeouts and when I succeed it just takes minutes for any command to process. It's not coming from my system though as "top" shows no process above 5% load and no noticable IO activity with "iotop".

    => It may very well be that the TS3 process gets killed due to excessive load on the another virtual host on the same physical machine.

    I will keep you updated on my attempt to stabilize the TS3 server by blocking port 10011 and running with root permissions.

    As promised a small update:

    None of the solutions worked! Even running with the minimal_runscript and queryport=10022 the server just shut down after a few houres ...

    I have just made a clean new installation of TS3 - if that doesn't fix it, it has to be the fact that I am not alone on the physical machine

    No - there was nothing in my server log except normal join/leave activity. Nothing in any system logs either - all other processes are running stable for over a month.

    BUT I seem to have made corrupted my installation during one update - for reference see here: http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthrea...ameter-working

    Even commandline parameters were not working as they should have been. Now that I made a completely new installation everything is running and I can even use the "commandline_parameters" with multiple parameters.

    I will keep monitoring of course and will post again if the crash-issue returns / is not fixed. After 1 stable week I think I can consider this problem solved.
