TeamSpeak 3 Server 3.0.1 Release Discussion
Greetings,
we're happy to announce that the latest version of the TeamSpeak 3 Server, namely 3.0.1, is now available for download. Most important, this build introduces a new logging system - there's no more database logging. Instead, everything will be stored in separate log files for each virtual server. Please be sure to adjust your custom scripts and tools to make them compatible to this update.

Here's the full changelog for the new release:
As always, we'd appreciate your feedback and bug reports. Simply drop a line in our forums...Code:=== Server Release 3.0.1 17 Nov 2011 ! removed database logging (SQLite users please manually do a VACUUM on your database) ! we got now a logfile for every virtualserver and one general ! logview command reworked, please check docs for details ! added new start parameter logappend (starting the instance with logappend=1 will append the logfile and wont create a new one on each instance start) ! removed client_login_name and client_login_password properties from snapshots * properties CHANNEL_ICON_ID and CLIENT_ICON_ID wont be stored anymore in database - fixed bug within server deploy (correct snapshot returned invalid_client_id) - command serverlist -all returns "other_instance" for virtualserver_status if the virtualserver belongs to an other instance - some improvements for quering virtualservers regarding machine_id parameter - command servercreate wont need an virtualserver_name anymore, will use the template default name instead - fixed guest client can set channel_icon_id and channel_flag_password - fixed b_client_skip_channelgroup_permissions == 0 only overwrites skipped permission if negated - fixed that channel deletion with parent channels gives wrong log output - fixed token could be created in an channel where you dont got correct permissions

General answer.
On Linux (& unix sys)
Go on the server folder and :
On WindowsCode:sqlite3 ts3server.sqlitedb "VACUUM"
With a tool like SQlite Expert personal, open the database > database > Vacuum
You have several other tools with this function (in some tools is "compact database")Last edited by florian_fr40; 17-11-2011 at 10:25.

Thanks! Two questions remain:
1.) May the server be running during the VACUUM?
2.) Does that command delete anything besides protocol data?

1.) It's better

2.) To be clear what does vaccum : just clean the database, recovering the blocks that are no longer used.

Ok, that worked like a charm and drastically shrinked the database size (OS: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS). Thanks a lot!

No. The server should be stopped as VACUUM rebuilds the entire database. Just to be clear... You do not need to execute the VACUUM command, but it will reduce the size of your database file if you had lots of log entries stored in it.
The logs table will be deleted by the TeamSpeak 3 Server automatically. VACUUM does not delete anything.

All good, updated the start script with logappend=1 and ran my TS3 Server Log Updater and all is good. Access to my logs all the way back to day one in Jan 2010.

Thanks for logappend=1 mode, but there is no way to tell server to reopen log. Tried kill -hup but server just died. It is still not possible to rotate logs properly with TS3.

Fixed the month meanwhile. Also added the readable version string ("3.0.1") again, complete version is now shown as: "3.0.1 (17.11.2011 08:34.30)".
