mic stops working when connected to a server
Hi,
my microphone works fine in TS3 setup assistant or settings/options/capture test,
but as soon as I connect to a server and do the test again, a little marker in the
meter still shows my PTT button pressed, but there's no signal at all.
I use a USB headset and an X-Fi sound card on W7, latest drivers installed.
There's no other software running that might use the microphone.
Again, the mic works when I'm not connected. Any pointer would be greatly
appreciated.

I only have the standard profiles, which are set for the servers I tried.
It seems to be independent of the server I connect to.

Check here:
Bookmarks > Manage bookmarks > ...select a server... > button "More" > ...
Capture profile = default
Playback profile = default
Hotkeys profile = defaultLast edited by Jordi; 05-01-2012 at 00:26. Reason: add info

yep, I got that - it's all set to 'Standard' in my localized version, but that's the only
profile I have, so the only other option would be 'none' ('keins').

Hello.
Just for testing: have you try with "Continuous transmission"?
Settings --> Options --> Capture --> Select "Continuous transmission" and try to connect to the server.
In Capture options,
what options have you in the "Capture Mode" Combo Box? And selected?
what options have you in the "Capture Device" Combo Box? And selected?
Greetings.

Just did, doesn't work either.
But what does work is to switch the output device back and forth
after connecting to a server.
When I did that once, either output device works, and I can use my mic.
Doesn't make sense to me, and is an ugly workaround, but well ...

In Capture mode I can select Standard (default) or my USB headset, it's set to the headset.
I tested any combination of settings (modes/devices) there, but nothing works for me. Unless I switch output devices once.Last edited by florian_fr40; 08-01-2012 at 17:09.

Hello.
Well, really strange but at least you can talk and be heard.
I'm a little bit confused. Please, help me to clarify some issues.
a) Mic and headphones are in the USB headset?
b) "to switch the output device back and forth", does it mean that you unplug / plug the usb headset once you are connected to the server?
Greetings.

Yes, mic and phones are both on the USB headset, and the profile is set to
use those.
To be able to talk, I switch the output device to my X-Fi sound card and back
to the USB headset (by editing the profile).
It does not help to disconnect the USB adapter.
In the client log I noticed:
right when the client starts. The devel messages are repeated when I do the testCode:07.01.2012 00:43:56 Info TeamSpeak 3 Client 3.0.2 (2011-11-16 08:35:57) 07.01.2012 00:43:57 Windows Audio Session Devel DeviceDeleteList::waitForDeletes - enter 07.01.2012 00:43:57 Windows Audio Session Devel DeviceDeleteList::waitForDeletes - leave
in 'capture device'. Then I do the output device trick and the messaged will no longer
appear.
In Windows, the X-Fi is set as default output device, and the USB headset as default
comms device. I played around with those settings, but they seem unrelated to the
problem.

Hello.
Ok, your last post it's very useful and descriptive. Maybe with that information some other user of the forum could give you better help than me.
Nevertheless, I've consulted to 'Mr.Google' and it seems there is a general issue:
(2005) http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/...phone-conflict
(2011) http://forums.techarena.in/hardware-...ls/1403736.htm
If you find a solution, please, don't forget of share it with all of us.
Greetings.
