    Microphone echoes on Macbook Pro

This is the same with Mumble as well as Teamspeak, but the problem does -NOT- exist whatsoever, no matter how loud or quiet I am, in Skype.

Can anyone help me? I've tried every volume level, and nothing is working. I've put echo cancellation on, as well as echo reduction, and tried messing around with the echo reduction reduces playback setting too.

I can't understand why Skype works beautifully, but Mumble and Teamspeak do not.

    Thank you.

I guess your soundcard allows to record more then 1 target at the same time.
You should check your operation sound/capture settings.

I know that skype automatically changes windows sound settings, as long you don't touch these skype settings.

    Thanks

As I said in my OP, I'm on a Macbook Pro, so... no soundcard so to speak. it's all on the logic board. I only have one 3.5mm jack which can be either an input or output, and then I have my mic hole on the top of the laptop near the hinge.

It seems, that skype's echo cancellation is more capable.
Maybe you should think about to get an usb headset, that can be used for conversations?
Voice are more clear and also the microphone (your voice) would sound much better for other users.

This solves the issue. As you can see, the problem is that the headset of your iPhone uses one channel for the microphone and one for the speakers. Skype and Co. recognize the headset and automatically change their recording settings to use only one channel for recording. I wished the Teamspeak Client would be equally smart. In my opinion this should be integrated within the next release (cannot be that difficult though). Until than, use the workaround mentioned in my blog.

    Cheers.

Nevertheless, may we expect a fix for this issue in the next release?

    Thanks.

Dante, it's just a Macbook. It has the microphone built in to the laptop body, with the speakers internally inside the body with sound coming out the rear vents.

Skype has never ever had this problem with me, it's just Team Speak.

Even now, months later, I upgraded to the latest client, and it still does it. Constant echo, no matter how I fiddle with the settings.

I'm surprised there isn't a fix.. Come on..
