    [SOLVED]greyed out permissions

    hi,

if the guest group has -100 poke power but the member group has only a greyed out "needed client poke power" will the guest be able to poke a member?

whats the value for permissions that are greyed out?

Normally, when Power is higher to Needed Power, then is possible.

    Greyed out, value=0

    in permissiondoc.txt its said
... and if a permission is not set it is assumed to be zero
It would be better to set "needed_power" values then to give negative "power" values - unless its needed, like for join_power.

in the case of join power we also use negative values for some groups because the default value thats set if you create a chan is automatically above zero and so higher. you dont have to change every chan if you dont want guests in it.

but why should this be avoided in general?
