Server Update permissions issues
I have just updated my server from an old version (I think it was 2 releases behind, something like November last year?) to the most recent 3.0.3 and users cannot browse files. Where is the server default file browser permission set? as it is not included in each channel by default, also even if I change the groups browse permissions to 100 they cannot browse the files, but if I edit the channel browse permission to 1 (in the edit channel dialogue), then back to 0 (what it was before) this is fixed, and users can browse this. What is editing the channel doing, and is there something else I can do to fix this rather than double-edit all of the channels?

You can adjust i_ft_file_browse_power, in advanced permissions.
Settings > Options > Application > Misc > ...check box "Advanced permissions system"
then... go to Permissions > Server Groups > ... > and use the filter for find permissionLast edited by Jordi; 15-04-2012 at 15:33. Reason: typo

Surely that is meant to be a channel permission, applied to the channels? not a user/group permission. Also this still doesn't explain why editing the channels one way, and then back fixes it...

It works, but as I said surely this permission is designed to be applied to the channel, not the group, and still no explanation is given as to where the permission is actually defined as default, as it was not defined anywhere, or why double changing the permissions fixes it...
