Background sound inaudible

Hey
I use an Atari headset, mic and sound output included. When I run TS3, I can hear everything, like usual. However, when I join a server, I can only hear what is being said by other people on TS3, but not on background applications (I later found that the sound output for everything but TS3 was being ran through my laptop speakers). I know this is probably something to do with sound configuration, sound card etc. but does anyone know a solution? (Specifically, I can't hear anything in Team Fortress 2 or Youtube.)

1) Put off your Headset
2) Turn up the Speaker Volume

Just kidding On to a more serious suggestion:

3) In Windows right click the Speaker Icon in the bottom right Corner right next to the Clock, then choose Playback devices. In the following Dialog locate your Headset and right click -> Set Default. Hit Ok.

If that doesn't help left click the aforementioned Icon click Mixer (you will possibly have multiple) and make sure none of the Processes listed have their Volume Slider all the way down (or the bottom Mute Box clicked and the slider grayed out), if you find any that does just pull the slider to the same level as the Master Slider to the left is.


Also make sure you have the latest Version of the TS3 Client (currently 3.0.5 soon (as in next week) to be 3.0.6).

Don't worry, found it. For some reason, I must have confused the headphones with the soundcard settings, because when I set TS to use the laptop speakers, everything went through my headphones. Resolved
