    License Problems

    Hello !

    I've tired to reg. a license yest. , but when i start the server , this error show up:
    2012-04-20 17:52:43.243765|WARNING |Accounting | | Unable to find valid license key, falling back to limited functionality

    I got the key in email.

    You need to put the key file from the email into your teamspeak server folder. Next time search the forums for an answer.

    oh... thanks... i've already did it.
    But it rly doesn't work.

    There needs to be a file called licensekey.dat right next to ts3server_(linux|windows)_(x86|amd64) (only one of the parts in () will be there).
    If you do have that file in the same directory make sure the User that runs the Teamspeak Server is allowed to access that file.
    Make sure to restart the server after you put the licensekey.dat into the folder.

    If it still doesn't work post the output of
    ls -alh (if using Linux server) or dir (if using Windows server)
    make sure to first cd into the Directory where the server is located.

    if it still does not work open the licensekey.dat in any editor (vi, nano, notepad, wordpad) and make sure it looks something like this:

    description  : TeamSpeak 3 Non-Profit License

    Lots of gibberish here (any Character from A-Z a-z 0-9 +/= NO SPACES) (like A8f43359cGH+/Usa)
    If it does not look like that (especially if the key part contains non printable characters) your key got screwed and you need to save it again from your Email attachment. Note that some WebInterfaces screw up badly when saving attachments, as do certain Clients so you probably have to use a different client than the one you were using.
