    sub channels password inheritance

    Hello,

I have got three questions about subchannels:

1.) If you dont have the power to subscribe a channel, why you can see the subchannels?

2.) If you set a password for a channel, why dont get all subchannels the same password as default?

3.) What about clients in channels with subchannels? I think it is more usefull if those clients will be list before subchannels!?

1+2. Some people will be using Sub-channels and Channels as you are describing. That is to say that they want everything that happens to the Parent channel, to apply to the sub-channels. Other people don't want this sort of thing. Some people want Just the Parent channel to not be join-able and all the sub-channels too be join-able.

    3. Probably won't change.

Its said to be on the todo list, that subchannels will inherit some properties from parent, like permissions.
As for the client listing, do a little forum search, could have been discussed earlier.

where is the problem!?! Simply add another flag where you can decide if subchannels inherit the parameters from parents...

There is no problem at all. I was just throwing out some reason of why it is the way it is. However, i do believe this inherit tag is on the to-do, but don't quote me.

As far as number 3 goes, if we are talking about the samething, here is something that might interest you.

Is 2.) a confirmed planned feature?

    If yes:
Is there any release date for this feature?

    Thanks

i do believe so. You'll be able to check some sort of 'inherit' option. As far as when? I'm not sure.

    1. What you wan't is to hide a channel. This won't be included.
    2. Password from main to subchannel is on Todo.
    3. Subchannel under client is on Todo as an optional checkbox. < Has been included

    [Suggestion] Family Channels Password

Would it be possible to establish that the family channels will inherit the parent channel's password? Optionally.

    Thanks
