What is this number in brackets?

Hey. I wanted to ask something.
All server admins and users I met in my whole life couldn't tell me...
And I didnt find something using the forums search here.

What the hack is this number here:


What does it mean? What is it for?
Would be very nice, if someone could tell me.

That is your current Client ID on the Server.

Which is an internal number the server uses to distinguish between all the clients on the server.

This Information got removed with Client 3.0.6 and thus shouldn't be displayed anymore if you are using Client 3.0.6

But why do i have Client ID 3? There is no other person connected on that server.
And why is it changing every day or every few hours?
There is DATABASE ID, why do we need an client id in addition to it?
After what is the server giving the numbers: who gets 1, who gets 2, and so on and why?
In fact, that was my question... nevertheless thanks for answering so far.

Oh ok, so you don't know what all the Info is for but you use a Skin that gives you information with no value to you? Neat.

In any case on to your questions:
You have Client ID 3 because most likely you (or someone else) was connected to the server within a couple of minutes before you joined the server.

Database ID uniquely identifies a User within the whole Instance, whereas the Client ID identifies a single active connection to a virtual server.
For example: you can connect to the same server twice using the same Identity. Both of these Clients have the same Database ID. Now if an Admin were to say I don't want him to be on the server twice and decides to kick one of the two, how would the server be able to say which one the Admin wanted to kick?
That is where the Client ID comes into play. Both of the Connections are from the same User but the Client ID identifies them individually and thus the Server knows exactly which of the two to kick.
So you see the Client ID is only used for internal server purposes such as explained in above example. It doesn't matter at all if it is 1, 2, 3 or 5934752.
Client IDs start at 1 for the first User to connect after the server was last started and increment. After a client disconnects and a certain amount of time has passed the Client ID is marked as available again and used for the next client to connect.

I know, what unique ID and Database ID do (as a server admin i should know that, lol), but i didn't know what's the client ID about.
and i wanted to see database id, number of connections and first join date cause i looked to them very very often.
