    SSH Ports

    Hello!
    I know the ports I need to 'open' are 10011, 30033 and 9987, but how to do this via SSH/putty?
    I've tried 1231423 times, even googled it... I talked to my host support, but they said they do not help with these stuff...
    Here's what i get when trying to forward the necessary ports

    ts3@server1 [~]# ssh -L 9987:<domainname>:9987 ts3@server1
    ts3@server1's password:
    bind: Address already in use
    channel_setup_fwd_listener: cannot listen to port: 9987
    Could not request local forwarding.
    Last login: Sun Apr 29 05:34:07 2012 from server1.<domainname>

    ts3@server1 [~]# ssh -p 9987 <domainname>
    ssh: connect to host <domainname> port 9987: Connection refused

    I've tried, also, using the root user... TeamSpeak server is already set and its running, but no one can access it since the ports are closed... so I need help opening them;
    Anyone?

    Why do you want to start a SSH-tunnel? That won't help anyone to connect. To "open" the ports you need to modify the firewall settings of your linux box. There should be enough how-tos around the net.

    You might want to do some reading key word may be "iptables".

    On root server you should usually not need to forward anything.

    On my WHM firewall, I added the ports (both in and out) to the 'allow list', but I can't connect to the server, yet.
    How to edit the iptables? I heard something about this, while searching on Google, but I dont know how to edit... on the WHM panel, theres an option named like 'test iptables' or soething like this... but theres no option like 'edit iptables'.

    I even tried to disable the firewall... but it doesnt seem to work; You can use those port check tools... the domain is thesourcegames.com.br;
    Or you can even try to connect to the server using TS3... it resolves the hostname, but wont find the server... The port checker says that the 9987, 10011 and 30033 ports are closed

    Good news! (at least for me, LOL)

    I did it! Let me explain how... that may help others;
    I created a new subdomain, and unpacked the ts3server files on the new subdomain's folder; I opened PuTTY and typed the SSH command to start the server.

    cd /home/THE USER GRANTED BY YOUR HOSTER/public_html/ts (the subdomain I created)/
    ./ts3server-startscript.sh start

    Now people can connect to my server normally... I was doing it the wrong way;
    That worked! Now the server is open and running perfectly.

    Now I've got another question: the VPS I rented gave me 3 IPs. With that in hand, I'll ask: how many servers can I host? I saw in the contract I can host one server per IP... if I have 3 IPs, that means I can host 3 servers? If so, how to use the other 2 IPs I have?

    From what I read from your above Post it sounds like what you got is more Webspace with SSH Access than a VPS.

    All TeamSpeak Server within an Instance use the same IP Address, to use multiple IP Addresses you would have to run multiple instances.

    Well, I got a VPS, yeah. But the problem is that I cant access the server when installing from the 'right way'... the only way I could actually access the server, was the one I posted above. Like I said on the first post: I tried disabling the firewall, adding the ports to the whitelist (both in and out); SO tried using my web disk... and it worked. What matters here is that the server is now accessable;

    This is my hoster (yeah, I'm in Brazil); My plan is VPS-3 (on the top menu, click 'SERVIDOR VPS');
    You can check the place where says 'IPs Incluídos', which means 'Included IPs'... I have 3 IPs, then, I guess;
