Channels in servers are randomly joinable and can't see users in them.

All of a sudden I am unable to see other users outside the lobby and unable to move channels. This appears to be happening in the TS3 public server as well as the guild server I am in.

There also seems to be an issue with disconnecting without an apparent lag and I am unable to see an icon when I mute my microphone or speaker.

I have tried re-installing teamspeak3 and as far as I know, I have the correct permissions to join the channels and see the people in them. I can see the different channels, but not the people in them.

I am able to talk to people in the entry lobby and see people in the entry lobby but that is it. My tags also won't appear.

It did work for about 5 minutes earlier today and then stopped working again. Yesterday it was working on and off (after restarting TS3 several times). Now it seems to just not be working.

Can anyone suggest a possible fix?
-my operating system is Windows 7 64bit.
-I have made sure my firewall is allowing TS3

Here is an attachment of a print screen of an error I am receiving about the channel groups not being found, which may help in resolving this issue. (error is in red text).

    Thanks

As for seeing people in Channels other than your own you need to subscribe to them first for which you need to appropriate Permissions.
Right click a channel and click Subscribe to Channel. It will either give you an Error Message in the Server Log in which case you lack the Permissions (and need to see the Server admin of the Server in Question) or it will show you the Clients inside that Channel (if any).

Same goes for moving Channels around which you cannot do without Permissions either, again see your ServerAdmin in the Server in Question.

Edit: Can't see any Error Message on that Screenshot, maybe it failed to upload correctly?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I can subscribe to the channel's without any error messages in the server log and I know I have the permissions needed as I am in contact with the server admin. When I subscribe to the channel it still won't show people in the channel and I know people are in that channel as I am in contact with them via steam chat. As with moving channels, no error comes up, it just does not move me, or to my knowledge. Although the read error writing does appears after a while without doing anything (this does not happen all the time).

    Thanks,

    Tmalia.

Sounds like a Connection / Ping Issue to the TS3 Server.
Right click on yourself and click Connection Info.

What's your Ping and Packet Loss?

Make sure you (or someone else in your Network) are not running Internet heavy Applications like Downloads, Torrents, Uploads, etc.

Well, I'm not downloading or anything else and I know that no one else in the house is using up the internet. So not sure >_<

I have a question. Do other user get the same error about the icons, when they connect to that server?
I can imagine, that the server does have more then 1 IP and that this ip is not bound to the teamspeak instance.

Does this happen on other servers too?

Apparently it has only happened to one other person before. I have had the same problem with the public server, but then I have not had a problem with another TS server that I used for playing counterstrike. So I am a bit confused.

    TS3 bug

    Hi,

I have a problem with teamspeak, though I don't know if it's server or client side. Basically when I try to connect to the server, it connects me, and all channels are shown. Though, I can't speak nor write. I can't change channel ( I can't do anything ) and I can't see anyone on teamspeak, but if there are people in the welcome channel (default channel when you connect) and they speak, I'll hear them (and see them) Also, if I pop up a private message window with someone, they'll see what I write but I won't see anything, even my own text.

It's really hard to explain thus I'm willing to go on screen share on skype!

    Thread has been merged

    Any ideas?

I'm sure that this is not a bug, the default server group on the server may not allow you to write/switch channels/subscribe to channels etc. You would require a server group which has those permissions (If the server has those groups set up).
