Copied TS server, now get disconnected
Hello,
I have a TS server running on a linux CentOS server and I want to start a second on an other server.
In order to keep all my settings I copied the whole TS directory from machine 1 to machine 2.
Server settings on machine 1 was only 75 slots, so 2 machines are within my non-profit license right ?
But when I start TS on machine 1, machine 2 goes down, plz tell me what I am doing wrong.
Kind regards,
Jacques

A copy of a server database can never be used for 2 server instances!!!!!
Same counts for a snapshot of a virtual server on a second instance!---------------------------------------------------------

In short, you can't (as far as I know). The only way would be to copy portions of the database bit by bit but, at that point, I don't think it would really be worth it.

If you are migrating the server (moving it and deleting your old instance), then just copy the directory over and delete it on the old server.
If you are trying to duplicate your server and run both see my last post.
You can't run two identical teamspeak servers.

Serious.
The problem here is not the copy of your database, its the copy of that virtual server.
It would work, when you had changed the virtual server with id=0
This server, send all the permissions and groups, for all new virtual servers. But yours is default, so there is no way around, or maybe you can fidn a script, that does that i nyour database.---------------------------------------------------------

Ok just mo make sure I understand your post.
I gonna install a whole new server, and then change virtual id=0
Then I make all my settings and all other stuff and after that I can copy
the freshly made server to an other machine and run it twice as TS1.server and TS2.server ?

You have to set the permissiosn ang group for server id=0 wit hthe server query!
It's not that easy, how youwrite it here. Server hoster use scripts for such actions.---------------------------------------------------------

Ok, wont touch that then
Can I then just install TS twice on different machines with same licensekey and make sure I dont go over 512 slots total ?

Yes you can do that, as long as you are not running a total of more than 512 Slots or 10 Virtual Servers total counting any machine using the license!
So 9 Servers with 20 Slots each on Machine 1 and another 3 Servers with 50 Slots each on Machine 2 will not work as you exceeded your License.

Ok, now thats clear
Now I have a final question (I hope) my vps says that I have an 32bit CentOS 5 Image but a 64bit Kernel.
Should I instaal TS 32 or 64 bit now ? Have installed the 32 bit, it starts but cant connect to it.

Without Serverlogs we cannot help you.
And if it starts you chose the correct Version since - unlike Windows - Linux cannot run 32 bit Apps on 64bit Linux and vice versa.
