Problems with ä in bookmarks

Hi,

I've recurring problems, that my teamsspeak client crashes after connecting to a server.
I've the problems since a 3/4 year i think.
I've solved it in the past, modifing my bookmarks.ini. Removed some entrys, reordered them.

The problem occures unpredictable, but if i have it once it stays until i do somthing with my bookmarks.ini.

Today I've found out a thing which has to do with the character ä.

First i made a backup from my bookmark.ini.

Then i started changing things in my bookmark.ini
I've removed all entrys expect the first one.

I am using a dns name as address for this teamspeak server. It includes an ä in the name.
I've changed this address to the IP-Address, so i have no dns names with an ä in the name. Now teamspeak does not crash anymore.

Then i added all the other bookmarks again to the file.
Teamspeak sill works.
Now i changed back the adress to the dns name with ä and it still works.


After all, i replaced bookmark.ini with the backuped one.
Yes you are right, i can connect and teamspeak does not crash.

I dont't have a really good idea what is happing. May it has nothing todo with the ä in the dns name.


But there seems to be a racecondition which causes the problem.

We have tried to reacreate this problem with our TSDNS server.
äüöÄÖÜ.localhost or ä.localhost but it worked in our bookmarks.

Can you send us such a bookmark.ini, when it is broken again?

Yes, i'll send you the ini when it occures again.

I have tried, the bookmarks.ini you have send me, but the client does not crash at all.

It connects fine to your server (with the password).

Could it be, that your dns server maybe has some problems with these umlauts?
I have no clue, why it does not work for you.

Hello date696,

I've no idea.
Now i can connect also to the servers.

The problem i have seems not realted to the server with umlauts. If i got the problem, i am not able to connect to any aviable server.
Is there any option to troubleshoot this, when it occures again?
