client connected then 30sec later client disconnected
Hi everyone,
i have a strange problem with my private TS3 Server.
This server is just used my some freinds of mine and myself. It runs on a second computer in my home network and sits behind a Engenius ESR9850 Router. I connect directly via Lan, my friends from the outside. Ports are forwarded, everything works fine.
Except for ONE user.
Everytime he tries to connect he comes onto the server, can hear us but is unable to speak, there is no retrievable information about him in TS3 and after 31sec he looses connection.
2012-06-11 21:53:26.486795|INFO |VirtualServer | 1| client connected 'FixFlix'(id:3) from 37.24.4.120:51492
2012-06-11 21:53:57.733684|INFO |VirtualServer | 1| client disconnected 'FixFlix'(id:3) reason 'reasonmsg=connection lost'
This is repeatable and the time he stays on the server is always the same.
Fun Fact is, my Server is the only server he has this problem with, all others he uses work fine.
He himself sits behind a Dlink DIR600 Router and is connected via cable to it.
Is this an configuration issue on my server or a configuration issue on his Client side? And how to solve this problem?

It seems be an issue with his router firewall.
If he can access to his router, he could uncheck "Enable SPI" in the firewall section, see image:
http://screenshots.portforward.com/r...l_Settings.htm
(in the image it appears checked and i think, in this case, it must be unchecked)
I hope this could resolve the issue.

this btw is the relevant part from his logfiles.
I will now try to talk him though the Routerconfig. I expect to be able to write here again in a few days...

Ok, it was surprisingly fast since the moron who "configured" the router left everything on default, including the username and password...
SPI Firewall deactivated: no change.
He still disconnects after 31 seconds.

I've connected to your server more than 30 seconds and no problem.
Have your friend tried to connect to the public server, voice.teamspeak.com ? Same issue with it, I suppose.
I have no experience with this Dlink router, I can only give you theorical indications. I think it's something related with the firewall (router or pc sofware ) or the antivirus/security software.
I would try:
In the router firewall: 'Enable SPI' deactivated and 'Enable anti-spoof checking' deactivated
http://screenshots.portforward.com/r...l_Settings.htm
In the router QoS section: 'Enable QoS Engine' deactivated.
http://screenshots.portforward.com/r...QoS_Engine.htm
Just for discarding, after changes saved in the router sections, go to System Settings page
http://screenshots.portforward.com/r...m_Settings.htm
and try with 'Reboot the Device'

So do others all the time when we use it.
we are using several other Teamspeakservers since my own doesnt work satisfactory, he doesnt have any problems with those. I dont think that we used this one specifically. Mostly were on Europe.PublicTeamSpeak.comHave your friend tried to connect to the public server, voice.teamspeak.com ? Same issue with it, I suppose.
For the rest of your suggestions: i will let him try it, but i somewhat doubt that its only a problem on his side since other TS3 Servers work.
