Solved My mic volume is too high?

Hey, I just got Teamspeak 3 for Win-7, and when I went through the set-up wizard, at the part where it was testing my mic, my voice started echoing intensely throughout my headset until it got to a really high pitch whine and I had to take my hand off of the Push-to-talk button. Also, when I did talk, it seemed like my voice was REALLY loud... Louder than I even talked.

I run on Steam and Skype daily and my mic volume is just fine so.... Is there any way to turn down the mic volume for Teamspeak only?

That happens usually when using Speakers for Playback while using PTT. It can exponentially raise the volume... I think its because of the automatic gain control...

    In any case:
You can go to Settings -> Options -> Capture -> Advanced Options -> Voice Activation detection while using Push To Talk.

Also Settings -> Options -> Playback and then move the Top Slider to the left.

Thing with Skype is that it (at least used to) has a bad habit of screwing up Sound Settings and interfering with normal Operation in general, so it could very well be responsible. Not saying this is the case here but its a thing to keep in mind.

Thanks for the heads up! It worked... kind of. The echo is now gone, but my mic is still transmitted irregularly loudly. =/ Any other tips?

Also, I'm using a headset to talk AND to listen with.
