Server just inexplicably wont work

I have viewed this forum, I have googled and googled. Here's what's going on. I start the server up using the script, and the logs indicate its listening on 0.0.0.0:9987. I have the server sitting on my webhost, and I've set it up through a shell using SSH. Its on Linux. I have contacted my webhost and had them set up all the ports for my use, as I have a dedicated IP through them instead of shared hosting. After it wasnt letting me connect to the server with the client on port 9987 I contacted them again, wishing to double check that 9987 was open for UDP. They said it was.

It also does however allow me to connect via telnet to port 10011 for the server query. That works just fine. Just not using the Teamspeak 3 client to connect. I've run out of patience and ideas for getting this thing to work. Please help.

Since you have SSH access, log in & try 'netstat -an' (without the quotes) to make sure Teamspeak really is listening on port 9987 UDP

Turns out 9987 was in fact open. The problem is with it by default binding to 0.0.0.0. In my case on my webserver that wouldnt work, so once I used the voice_ip command line parameter and specified the ip, it started working. So, problem solved.
