Having troubles with server setup
I really hate to make a new thread about this, as there are so many already, but i still yet have been able to fix this problem. I have been using TS3 client for a few years now, and love it! Recently, i have decided to host my own server. I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
I have read, watched, and followed the tutorials while i set this up. When it came to the port forwarding, i have forwarded UDP 9987, TCP 10011, and TCP 30033 to my IPv4 address 192.168.0.5. (I have a Arris TG852).
When i check the ports at canyouseeme.org, it says "connection refused." When i command "netstat -a" it will show ports 10011 and 30033 are Listening and port 9987 shows 0.0.0.0:9987 *:* Now, when i start the server logged in as localhost or my IPv4 address, and check the logs, it says the server is Listening to all 3 ports? Not sure what to really think.
My ISP has given me a static IP, and when i give my WAN IP (24.53.180.XX) for people to join they get a "failed to connect" message. I have tried to disable all firewalls and still no luck.
If i have overlooked something, or if anyone has any suggestions or need more info, it would be very appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Ruger

Couldn't find any specifics on that Router but make sure you have the Source and Destination Port the same (if the router even supports source and destination ports), if there is just one Port Field for each rule then pretend you never read this sentence.

Yes, in this case this router gives you a "Inbound Port" with two fields and a "Local Port" with two fields. At the moment i have both Inbound and Local port filled in both fields. Maybe, this could be an issue?
Thanks for reply

All 4 Fields should be the same Number in that case.
Also if your Router offers an Inbound IP Field (rare but some do) enter 0.0.0.0 in that one. Make sure your Local IP is correct.
Connect to whatever IP you have in the Local IP Field using TS3 Client. If the TS3 Server is running and you fail to connect then the Local IP is wrong.

Yes, all 4 fields are same port number. There is no field for "Inbound IP" on the router. I can in fact connect to the server using my local IP (192.168.0.5) with no problems. I do have the router firewall disabled, and have made sure Teamspeak is allowed in my Windows firewall as well.

Well, not to sure what exactly fixed this problem, but i ran into another TS tutorial. After the ports were forwarded he then instructed to make sure "telnet" was enabled. Command prompt: telnet (your WAN IP Address) 10011 it then brought me to the teamspeak server query where i did absolutely nothing but that. Then ppl are able to connect. Strange.. but hey IT WORKED!
I would watch this tutorial, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI2xsTSvR3I at 24:14 talks about telnet.
Thank You SilentStorm for your time, i appreciate it much CheersLast edited by Ruger44mag; 30-06-2012 at 07:32.
